D001 - 2009-11-15 5:59 PM  Thanks for doing the updates, Jen! I played with my meds last night, and feel a WHOLE lot better today. I felt so good that I went out and did a little wog just now. Woohoo! (Yeah yeah, I'll call the doctor tomorrow. I may be stupid, but I'm not THAT stupid. )

No problem, Dee!  Saw your post in the health issues thread.  Hope they can figure your meds out.  It sucks when they are off.
Thanks. Last time, it took 6 years to get the meds figured out. And it only took one day to mess it all up again.... (Insert eye roll here.) Stoopid insurance companies.

I understand that.  I do better on Synthroid than Levothyroxin.  I end up pain almost 6x more per month for that even though my endocrinologist wants me on brand.  It's such a pain.

Hi team. I am home from work! yay! I talked to hubby today for a couple minutes--he made it to SOuth Africa, now he just has to get to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. That means 2 more plane rides. Sooo glad it isn't me, LOL. I'm afraid I'm another one of the gabbers who didn't update the spreadsheet. That's ok, We're just luring the other teams into a false sense of security. we'll end on top, for sure!

Hey Amy, glad to hear your hubby made it to Africa OK. Hopefully the flights into the Congo are uneventful. No worries about the spreadsheet - you've definitely had a lot going on this week. Like you said... we'll get 'em in the end!

Good morning Team!
I must apologize, but I was not diligent in filling out the spreadsheet. I have now filled in my times and I am at 65% of goal! I agree that we are just giving the other teams a false sense of security!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Bill

I got a strength workout done this afternoon.  I'm going to try to go for a run a little later.  My right foot is having some PF problems today, so I've been stretching my calves and running my foot over a golf ball.  It's helping.  Anyone know of other ways to help stretch out PF?

Got in 20 minutes on the trainer this afternoon. It was more than zero, and about all I have in me. I did get a nap this morning. I really needed that after the late nights this weekend. It's getting awfuly quiet in here--we better not fall behind in the secondary challenge!

I've found massaging the soleus muscle helps me a little. Really push into the muscle....

I'll try that.  Unfortunately, it hurts and I'm ticklish.  The hurting is a sign I need to do it more I guess.

This is why I hate wearing heels.  It got way worse when I wore a pair to go out to dinner Saturday night.

Don't worry Amy - we'll win 'em both! Great job on the trainer session and nice job on getting your recovery nap in today. I could have used one myself.

Sorry to hear about the PF issues Jen. Take care of those feet. We'll need them both to help kick the other teams' butts!

Jen, sorry the Princess Feet are acting up.  I've given up heels, except for special occasions and always pay the price.  Here's one stretch I like alot.

Kneel on the ground with your injured foot on the floor and your opposite knee on the ground. Put your body weight over the leg with the injured foot and lean forward while keeping the heal on the ground. Hold for 15 to 20 seconds. Repeat several times and then switch to the opposite foot.

Have you tried sleeping in the boot/brace?  I did when mine first flared up.  Not comfortable but helped eliminate morning pain.  Last thought, make sure you are icing alot.  I keep an aluminum can in the freezer and roll my feet at night.  (aluminum conducts cold better than plastic, so I ditched the water bottle and froze a can of beans)

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Good morning all... no workout yesterday. Work has been crazy lately. I'm heading over to the gym at lunch to get a treadmill run in. Still need to get into the pool, but can't seem to get myself there. It'll happen EVENTUALLY. I'm also in a fog today... felt like I never got into a good, deep snooze last night. Already had an XL Dunkin Donuts coffee... YUM!!! Happy training, everyone!!!

iowagander - 2009-11-10 6:09 PM Good afternoon Gobblers! I got ST session #3 done today, as well as a little over 3 miles. It was a nice lunchtime workout which is my second favorite time to workout following early morning. The only problem with early morning workouts is the early part, so lately most of mine have been in the late morning. Oh well

Great job Tom!  I wish I could get away during my lunch break.  It would probably be very therapeutic.

It definitely helps. I'm starting to think I should bring my running shoes with me everywhere I go in case I ever need a little stress-relief break...
I could use a little stress relief break! It's 10:30 PM, and I'm still working. I'm working from home at least, which is much better than working at work. But it's still BLEH, anyway.

Ugh! Hope you can wrap it up soon Dee. Maybe you should tase your boss tomorrow for revenge. Just a thought...
No no no. I like my boss. This isn't a usual event. It's just that I have some deadlines coming up, so I need to get things done. Actually, if I hadn't spent so much time on BT lately, I'd probably be OK. (I organized the October and November challenges. They take a time to set up and run.)

It sounds like your boss appreciates your work, so I'm happy for you. I know not everyone can say that. Please remember that all of us challengers appreciate your work as well. We're aware that you put a LOT of time and effort into this, so THANK YOU very much!

Yep thank you from me tooooooo!

got in another continous mile swim followed by 950yds continous for 'good measure'

i almost continued to swim - my goal is to do 2 miles continuous, but i 'resisted' the urge.

im a gradual progression kinda of gal.  so...i stopped when the watch said it was time to stop.

but NODOUBT after todays swim, A TWO MILE CONTINUOUS SWIM in MOST DEFINATELY in my NEAR FUTURE.

whoop!

7 mile run tomorrow, then my long day Thursday - 60 min spin/3 mile run/30 min ST.

im right on track progress-wise.
