Come on step up your game! I have nuttin' but LOF for B.A. Same here. I'm not going to pull out a kids joke as a real insult You LOF yourself? It's not nice to make fun of the blind boy with hairy palms. My minds wandering again - I'm hearing the Blind Boys of Alabama http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCfqS7HgAY0&feature=related and Cheech and Chong's "Blind Melon Chitlin'". |

I had to order a tow truck, arrange service, and NOW have to make arrangements for a rental car... And it makes me sick... BUT, when it's done, I feel satisfied. |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #120: Sticking our TANgues out ... mmmm sleep... Here was my drama for the weekend: (if you want a story)... Wife calls at midnight on Sat. from her show and says her car won't start to get her to her next job... So I wipe the sleep out of my eyes, jump in the car and starting heading down to the strip. I'm 5 minutes away and she says she got a ride to her next job. So now, she's not with the car and has the keys. I can't do anything, so flip a U and go back home. She's off at 3:00 am, so get back up to meet her by her car at 3:30. Have to push her car out of the parking space to get enough room to jump it. Get it started and start driving home. It stalls on the road. SO, I have to pull up along side of it to jump it again. I mounted the median curb carfully (my car has low clearance and body molding). Jump it again but decide that I will drive her car and she will drive mine. She pulls off the curb with my car, and high centers, breaking my bodywork... boo... (side note, I'm busting my arse the whole time and the wife is on the crackberry just chilling. I know she really can't do much to help, but I found it aggrivating that she wasn't at least paying attention or "pretending" to help - does that make sense?) Her car is acting REALLY funny. Lights are dimming and I hear a whine from the dash... Not good. Not a battery, could be an alternator... Finally get home at 5am but too stressed about it to sleep. We NEED two cars. Get up at 7 when auto zone opens to buy an alternator to swap out (yeah, man card, cuz I got mechanical skilz)... They said bring the car in and they will check the alternator for me just to be sure. Can't hurt... go home, car won't start. I use my battery charger/jumper at home and nothing... Just a bunch or rapid fire clicks... So, it's not the battery, pretty sure it's not the alternator, could be the starter? But the dash get's no power, even though the battery is charged (according to my charger), but everything lights up when I have the car plugged in to my charger... could be an electrical problem. Called a tow truck today, called Honda to let them know it coming. Called insurance to see what's covered and what's not (towing is!). Called the car rental place... I'm tired and stressed. WANTED to go mtn biking yesterday, but couldn't get away cuz no car... aahhhh booo.... |

It makes sure you return 12.0V to the electrical system despite speed or RPM of the engine. Belt slippage could be the whine from the dash? Either way, her battery is dead: You confirm that when you say it's plugged into your charger and all is OK. Starter could be engaged at the engine and the thrower bearing isn't returning it to disengaged, therefore, the engine won't turn over? Let the dealer sort it out. It's just money. |

It's just money. that's what my conclusion was (about the money). It would cost me more to miss work fixing it than having them fix it. I thought of half of what you said... But by then, I was too frustrated to spend anymore time on it, so I took a nap and watched football! This also happened to be the SECOND incident with cars. On thursday night, was having a GREAT time with the wife on a "date". Was driving home and some construction workers failed to put in some temp. ashpalt around a valve or manhole. So there was essentially a 3"-4" puthole (I KNOW they messed up, cuz construction is my biz). Anyway, hit THAT at 40 mph... Not cool. BANG! I thought it could even have bent an axel... But sure enough, 120 seconds later, car is pulling to the left and you can smell hot rubber... Pinch flat and had to change it in a gas station parking lot at midnight.. THEN get a new tire Friday morning. Then everything else to her car Sat night... I hate cars... Edited by Kido 2010-09-27 12:50 PM |
