Merry Christmas Ghoulies!

Had Christmas with the son and GF this morning.  It was really nice.  They arrived last night a bit after 6pm, We were eating dinner by 7:30, chatting until 10, then off to bed.  This morning was nice, I made overnight baked french toast for breakfast.  We opened gifts and then sat around talking till about 2pm.  It is a nice feeling when you find that sitting around with your kid talking is really enjoyable and they seem to also be enjoying themselves.  That was the best christmas gift of all.

I got a fitbit Force, but I need to exchange it for a different size.  They got me a small and even in my wildest dreams my bones will never be considered small.

Frank got me a pandora necklace with three charms.  

I also got Jaybird blue buds (wireless bluetooth ear buds).  I looking forward to using them as I start running again in the new year.  I am joining a running program at my friends church.  Time to get moving with the running and the ab work.  

Oh, I never got out of my pjs today (except to take a shower this morning).  It was a PJ day.

Kendra, after you've tried the FitBit Force can you let me know what you think? I thought about buying one this weekend, but the reviews I've read on it weren't good. The Flex you could wear in the shower, or get wet/damp, apparently you can't do that with the Force. There were a few other things that seemed like steps backwards. I'm hoping that advancements are coming to make a complete device for people.

What's up?

 I am trying to get motivation to go to the pool and swim. Once I get there and in the water, I always am glad I did. It is just getting there. It would be nice if it were closer. I have to at least go to the grocery store. We have "dock night" tonight so I need food and tomorrow, we have the kids girlfriends family coming over. Jim's cousin announced that she is coming over today, with her ill trained dog, and get this.. arranged to have her son, his wife and their dog meet her here. How nice that we were asked.... These folks believe with all their hearts that they are privileged and we are the help. Never mind talking to them (been there) their little brains just shut off.

Okay, I am procrastinating... here I go.

Oh if I could... Jim is oblivious, I cannot imagine what kind of crap I would have to deal with when I got back.

We had my side of the family over on Christmas Eve. I'm done doing the family thing. My brother's family never even talked to my sister or I, even though I attempted to talk to my SIL. She did complain to my brother though that I gave a bag a chips they brought to my sister, even though I gave them 2 pounds of lunch meat, 2 packs of rolls, and another bag of chips. My mom never said a word to my son, or my nephew. My aunt (dad's sister) who came never said a word to me, or my sister, we have no idea what we ever did to pizz her off. It's just too stressful for me. I don't enjoy the family get-togethers. We do them because we fell obligated, not because we actually want to spend time with each other. I don't have time to be with people who don't want to be with me.

Oh, and I got an in invitation to my niece's 16th birthday party via a facebook mssage from my brother. This is the niece that didn't even talk to me at my house on Christmas Eve. Keri has a basketball game that day, about an hour from  home, at the same time as the party. We aren't missing the game.

Ok. I feel better now.

I swear, family is why we choose friends. And then they (family) come around enough to remind us why we chose our friends!

Good news. the cousin decided not to come today because her son and DIL are not coming... so it isn't worth her time to drive. I am not upset. It is easier to see her away from here.  The little bit of swim I did wore my foot out. I am going to nap, get on the bike a bit, then get ready for Pseudo Dock Night!

I'm WFH today. WOOT!

No big plans for this evening. We were invited to my SIL's. Keri was invited to my cousin's. Her and I will go to the SIL for just a little while, then I'll take her to my cousin's, then I'll probably come home. I did get to sleep in this morning, but the idea of staying up until midnight with my husband's family is not my idea of a fun time. 

We may get some snow this week. One forecast is just for light snow, another is for a BIG snow - 12" or more. Cold though, too. On Friday the high is only 17, the low is 5. I think I'll be WFH on Friday, too.

I hope you get some snow, but not a blizzard. Staying close to home is the best way (in my humble opinion) to spend the New Year.

Good morning Ghoulies!

New Year's was pretty low key for us. Keri spent the evening at my cousin's, she has a daughter Keri's age. Caleb and I stayed home and watched Avatar, and Doctor Who. Donnie was down at his sister's house. She lives less than a mile away, he was driving between her house and ours at midnight. I was in bed by about 12:15.

Yesterday was a lazy day. I did take down the rest of the Christmas decorations, and I got my workout in. Other than that it was football, and a nap.

They are calling for snow this afternoon. I've heard anything from 2" to 12" so we shall see. Caleb has a basketball game about an hour away, too. I told him if the game was cancelled to let me know as soon as possible. Tomorrow the high is 16, and we are to have 25-35mph winds, with windchills in the negative digits. I'm WFH tomorrow!

We had a nice New Years Eve.  Spent it playing Settlers of Catan over at a friends house.  One game took over 3 hours.  We finished about 2am.  Of course we took a 1 hour break right before midnight.  

I don't think I've ever heard of that game. How do you play?

I am sitting here "at work", painfully watching my family move my giant sewing cabinet across the porch and into a room on the other side of the house.

Good Morning Ghoulies.  Happy 2014.

I am still doing lighter days today & tomorrow.  But since DH is back to work, I am back to getting up at 6:30.  Sure enjoyed sleeping until 8 or 8:30.

Hi Ann! Looks like we are getting cruddy weather, too. Though here it will be MAYBE some snow, then a bunch of freezing rain and high winds. The funny thing is the boy and his girlfriend are going Camping and MT bike riding!!!!  Remember, they have been living 1/5 years in the tropics. I laugh. I told them they can camp here if needed.

That sounds fun. But I am like Ann, I have never played that game.

Um... sounds like a good time to go camping in the living room. Freezing rain and high winds are not a good camping combination.

Having to get up early is no good... unless the weather is decent and you can get outside.
