He hasn't offered it to me. Don't think he's gotten approval yet. We just seem to miscommunicate a lot. |

It's hard to shoot something down before you ever see an offer, but these are my general observations: My supervisor cares about our department and the programs being sponsored by it. He has great ideas. He has absolutely no concept of time. He puts 100 percent of his time and effort into projects and gets upset when others cannot or won't do the same. We both make a lot of assumptions that are usually wrong about what we expect from each other. I would say communication is our weak link. I'm not sure if I could be his head guard without killing him. |

We just seem to miscommunicate a lot. that stinks - about the miscommunication - seemed like you weren't necessarily sold on the position - any new thoughts? sounds like you have a good read on the situation - tough situation (not very helpful, I know ) Yeah. Since no offer has been made, I'm not gonna worry about it too much. Tonight is a great example of our communication woes. On Wednesday, I asked if I was needed at this month's IST which was tonight. He said, no, that he had two other LGI's coming in to help, but that I should show up at some point so that my absence wouldn't be counted as one of my 3 absences that are allowed by our insurer. So I planned on blowing tonight completely off. My CPR is current and that is what was going on at the IST. I haven't missed any so far this year. I get a call at 5:15 from by boss asking when am I coming into work? I said I wasn't planning on coming into work. He said he needed me there by 5:45. Neither of the other two LGI's showed up. And he seemed ticked at me cuz I wasn't there. I thought I had cleared this on Wednesday. So I showed up, did my thing, helped clean up, and made a casual comment about his "ambitious" schedule this weekend ( he ran 2LG classes, swimming lessons, plus the IST). He said it would have been fine if Laura(the other missing LGI) and I had just show up. And then he told me to go home. No thanks, no nothing. Just go home. |
