Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: QUEEN ZIP & KathyG - CLOSED The music challenge was tough for me because I listen to a lot of different music. I also loved watching Darren's video so I decided to learn how to put a link in as well(A challenging challenge). So here is a look into my very confused musical tastes: Pump up song #1: Linkin Park, Bleed It Out video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4UTew4Ax-U Pump up song #2: Cruz Martinez, Muevelo video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44XeSJny250 My only problem is I start dancing instead of running/biking when they come on my ipod!!!
Yeah it worked! ;-) Edited by KOM 2009-02-02 1:05 PM |

Master 1591 San Diego, CA | Subject: RE: QUEEN ZIP & KathyG - CLOSED I made an eggplant and sausage polenta that we're having for dinner tonight. We eat a lot of veggies (strange ones too) but this is the first time I'm cooking eggplant this way. I bought a head of cauliflower to have this week. I'll probably mash it or roast it one night. |

kaqphin - 2009-02-02 7:31 PM So once Im recovered I need to rework my training plan for the enticer tri in 6 weeks to help my running... any advice where to start??? Have you used any of the tri-plans here? I'd start there, but if you're looking for a separate run component: Try looking at the Runner's World Smart Coach. It sets up a plan based on how much you're running, how hard you want to train, and your recent race results to set some pace goals. You may have to tweak your input to get it to spit out something that looks right, but I really like that choosing 'moderate intensity' it gave me a good gradual plan that only had me running 3x a week: Day 1- Easy Run, Rest, Day 3-Tempo or Intervals, Rest, Rest, Day 6-Long Run, Rest That might be a good plan for you if you're just getting back into things to give the legs a break from running between each run and that longer break before the long run. How about a more balanced approach? I know you LOVE your bike, and the run is a problem with your health issues but working on that and the little stuff that bothered you like drinking on the bike would probably make a better race next time.Edited by QueenZipp 2009-02-02 7:31 PM |

Wish I could work out why despite all the cycling I had such a terrible ride... Im thinking 2 swims a week should be enough... 3 runs and my rides.. I REALLY need to do some bricks thats for sure! Im just not sure WHAT I should be doing in the run sessions either.... how much it makes a difference that I tend to use the treadmill because its easier for the technique work... So many questions! |

I'm truly so proud of me. I've never dreamed I could do it but there it is. I think I'll make it my goal monthly. Complete an Ironman a Month. Anyway, I like the ideas of a weekly challenge. My favorite song lately to work out w/ is 2012 by Rush. Hummmm Veggies??? I'll see what's interesting & Central Market. |

Master 2621 Almaden Valley, San Jose, California | Subject: RE: QUEEN ZIP & KathyG - CLOSED We'll just top off a wonderful month or so......I was in an auto accident today, with my 15 year old with me. We're both bumped and bruised, but no damage it appears. My first partially-fault accident EVER, I'm more sore now, and horrified that my son's hurting. Kind of afraid to leave the house tomorrow! If things come in 3s, I'm so done, I'm working on the next guy's 3! Thanks to all of the wonderful inspires, they truly live up to their names. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to reply to each of your blogs. Once in a while it works, but not usually. Any ideas? To answer most of your questions here - I'm pretty sore, even before the tussle with the minivan. But, I think I'm breaking through some barriers. And my hubby's nose for setting up events on Saturday & Sunday! I'm thinking I may need a coach that doesn't expect anything in return!! The 'big' appt for my mom is today. Keep thinking your thoughts and praying your prayersl I think I'll try to run first, much safer than driving! Once word of this mishap gets out, I wonder if all the other parents in the carpool are going to want to boot me?!? Anyone want to take a shift with seven (7!) 15-17 year old boys who, shall we say, stink a bit after their various practices?! Come on! Live life! Linda |

Mmmmm - I never thought to use it in place of the pasta! That's a great idea - Im kinda lame on the fruit/veggie challenge. I bought a pineapple and learned how to tell if it's ripe and how to skin and core it. It is delicious though! |

One of my favorite after-hot-workout-treats is frozen pineapple. If you cut it into thin slices and just throw it in a zip-top freezer bag, it's an instant 'froze-fruit' pop. I also love it grilled with a little soy, lime, ginger and maybe garlic alone or as a marinade for pineapple kabobs with either swordfish or pork. Yum! |

Beantown | Subject: RE: QUEEN ZIP & KathyG - CLOSED Hello? is this thing on? HI troops - sorry i've been a reader and no a writer! Tonight i'm making healthy PIZZA - instead of Pepperoni (my FAV) i'm using zucchini - if you season it with Italian spices before trowing it on top it'll taste just like pepperoni... and speaking of pineapple - i'm adding that to the pizza, too!! (i know it sounds weird but i'm a huge fan - it's my version of a Hawaiian pizza because i don't like plain ham) If you want the real recipe for the 'za its: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/zucchini-roni-pizza-recipe/index.html below are my toes before my First Tri last september - a very 'fast' pink. The set on the right are MAV's - she thought using the M-DOT would make her fast - and it worked!!
