I see the elevation profile for the bike and run. Why is there not one for the swim??? I need to know! That seems like it would be just as important.

You need to send them a video of your swim and a breakdown of your "bob-to-sink" ratio per 100/yds - then they can tell you your elevation for the swim.

2 corrals ( holding pens) for IF there will be an option for wetsuits this year. Last year water was USAT egal, but not ironman legal and the choice was given to wear wetsuits. Wearing wetsuits in that situation means no awards.

south to south east.  The biggest concern of the wind is the north portion from mile 50ish to 80 because the land is wide open compared to the cover of the national forest on the way out.

To be more specific on what they mean by "corral" in that context...When you enter the swim start you walk over a pad to sync your chip. There was one pad for "legal" racers (no wetsuit) and one for those with wetsuits (no awards, no qualifying). That is how they differentiate between those athletes eligible for awards or not.

thanks a lot - i wasn´t sure if its meant that there will be two entries/pads or if there will be two waves with different start times (e.g. 7:00 pro / 7:10 without wetsuit / 7:20 wetsuit)

Subject: RE: Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas 2012 : Lodging?

Hi all,

I am doing IMTX!  this will be my second.  the spring has been a series of unfortunate bumps and bruises with lodging falling by the wayside as getting a bike, then a replacment bike has been priority.

Anyone know anyone willing to share space/rent a room or otherwise provide lodging?  I'm female - not picky, and will send great vibes your way.

thanks in advance for any help.

Deb

Here's some updated information about Saturdays ride. Hope to see some of you there!

Hello athletes!

We could not be more excited.  Our second annual Got 112? ride is  this Saturday April the 14th!

Last year athletes from The Woodlands and the Houston area took part in this ride making of it an incredible event.  This year is set to be even better.

We are privileged to have the support and presence from Tri Teams and athletes from and around the Houston, TX area, as well as, athletes coming all the way from Dallas and Austin TX.  This ride is opened to all experienced riders from local teams, clubs, groups, and even out-of-towners.

Wheels roll anytime between 6:50 and 7:10 am from the Methodist Church in the Woodlands.  Please ride safely, come prepared to be self-sufficient, and ride at your own risk.

Please take a look and reviewthe following link, which includes an updated map with the latest changes made to the IMTX course, directions, and aid stations.  You will also find all the information you may need for the day of the ride.

See you all on Saturday!
