ironannekidd - 2012-04-22 8:16 AM Last night was rough in my house. Not only was I up until 3 with my daughter because she was vomiting, the poor kiddo would writhe around in pain for an hour before she'd vomit. I felt so helpless. She's still running a fever but she seems in better spirits right now than she was last night.

Holy Crapola. Did she have food poisoning or something?

I don't know. Yesterday my husband was down the road helping my BIL get his yard ready and grass seed down before the rain came. We cooked burgers and hotdogs on the grill up here, then took everything down there and everyone ate off of the back up the truck. She was running around playing with the boys for awhile, then she came over saying she didn't feel well. It was warm out, and she doesn't take the heat well, she was red in the face, so I brought her home. We weren't home long and she vomited, then she felt better. She was fine the rest of the day.

Last evening we took the kiddos down to Grandma's while we went grocery shopping. They ate there, and we picked them up shortly after they had eaten. We got home, unloaded groceries, and within half an hour she was vomiting, and that time it didn't stop. She vomited several times over the night, once only being in pain for 15 minutes, another time rolling around the bed telling me her belly hurt, and all but crying for almost an hour and a half before she vomited and felt better. Each time she'd get about 45-60 minutes of sleep before it would all start again.

She has eaten this morning and hasn't vomited yet. She had a pancake for breakfast, and she just had some watermelon about half an hour ago. Hopefully whatever it is, it's gone.

I'm exhausted, and have a headache. Even though she slept, I stayed awake and kept an eye on her. When the boys get home from church I'm taking a hot bath, then a big old nap!

I am not the best judge, but soulds like bouts of food poisoning I have had before. I truly hope she is better and you get a L-o-n-g nap in.

Today may be a nap day for me as well. I got new running shoes yesterday so a quick tread-mill run (so I won't mess them up if I have to return them) will be in there as well.

She kept the watermelon down, and she has eaten some apple slices with peanut butter and that stayed down, so I hope she's over whatever it was. I had thought about food poisoning last night, but I don't think she ate anything yesterday that the rest of us didn't eat.

Good morning Ghoulies!

I'm working from home today. I am going to have to go see a doctor today. I'm pretty sure I have the pink eye, and I may have my husband's bronchitis, too. What a rough weekend.

It really was a rough weekend. I'm going to go see if I can get a doc appointment later this morning, or go to the ready care clinic. I'm also going to nap.

I would pack up and go to the clinic. It will be quicker and the same result AND you will have more time to nap.

It is odd, you are the 3rd adult I know in your region with pink eye!

I am going to roust the cousin and get on with the day. She has been married since she was 18 and is just now learning to take care of herself. You know, the basics, go to bed at a reasonable time, get up, etc.

I mean, she raised kids and all, is a massage therapist (a damn good one, too) and a registered nurse. But those were avocations rather than necessities for survival. It is hard to loose a life partner that she adored AND have to deal with reality all at one time. Not to mention having to move and change status of life financially. She is reeling but is doing pretty well over all.

It is a blustery rainy (almost sleety) day here. We are doing retail therapy.

Got a call from Grandma at 8:00 this morning that Keri had a blotchy rash on her face and chest, she asked if she should send her to school, I said no. I took a quick shower and went and picked the kid up, we went to the ready care clinic.

I have pink eye and a respiratory infection. The kiddo has a viral infection which is most likely which caused the weekend of vomiting. They did a swab for strep, too.

So right in the past week we have had diagnosis for pink eye, tendonitis, bronchitis, respiratory infection, and a viral infection. Normally I would tell you that you are all welcome here anytime, but I think right now you might want to stay away.

Good Morning, Ghoulies!

Wow, Ann, your family has certainly had a rough time of it!  Hope you all get better soon!  I am glad that the knee was tendonitis and not something more severe.

Robin, I am glad that your cousin has you to help her with these adjustments.  What a tough time for all.

I have been working tons and working out very little.  Not the combo that is the most fun!

Thursday I leave for convention for four days.  I plan to get some time on the tready at the hotel.   I will spend the days in class getting my continued ed requirements done for the year.  Meanwhile, I am working pretty long days to make up for the time gone.

No such luck!  It is a couple of hours north of here.  In Tacoma, WA.  Still is always fun and a nice change of pace.

ironannekidd - 2012-04-19 3:11 PM Back from the doctors. Not as bad as I expected, tendinitis in my knee. She gave me some prescription grade anti-inflammatories, and I'm to rest it for a week, so no walking or running but i can do yoga.
That is good news that it isn't more serious.

Well. Just another slap in the face. The cousin has a virus or food poisoning or something. (Hey, I ate what she did except for yesterday lunch, so it wasn't my cooking!)

She has spent the day throwing up and,.... other.

At least she is here. There is septic problems at her house and her daughter is not handling it like a big girl.

I am having another glass of wine. (Good news for Kendra, that's not on the diet plan for me)

Good morning Ghoulies!

I spent 2.5 hours in the ER with my daughter last night only to leave before we were seen.

Around 6 she started holding her belly again and was only briefly relieved of the pain when she'd vomit. I talked to my mom, who used to be a nurse, and she said it sounded almost like a bowel obstruction. We were in the ER by 7:30, we waited until 10. The hospital just built on a new "State of the Art" multi-million dollar emergency room, too bad they couldn't staff it so people were seen in a timely fashion.

They took a few people before us that came in after us. One was a guy who cut his finger between the first and second joint. Yes, I'm sure it took 2-3 stitches, but honestly it's something I'd have thrown a few steri-strips on and gone back to whatever I was doing. After 2.5 hours I went to the desk to ask and they told me it would probably be another 1.5 to 2 hour wait, it was already 10:00. I brought her home, put her to bed, and she slept through the night. I'll call the pediatrician this morning and get her seen today.

I second that motion. If she's sick, then keeping her there another day or two is probably a good idea.
