Morning!

Glad you held it in, Ann! Keri must be kicking your butt!

We had a lovely "Dock night" on the porch and celebration of Jim's birthday. It actually cleared up, so when the sun set, we lit the fire pit and lit the Sky Lanterns. The are about 3 feet tall and you light them and they float up in the sky. (All biodegradable materials). It was perfect, with all the rain, there was no fear of catching anything on fire and they went all the way to the clouds and the clouds put the fire out. It was very, very cool.

It is only to get up to 60 today, be cloudy, misty, just basically yucky and 3 of the 4th grade classes, Keri's included are going on a field trip today, Donnie is chaperoning.

They are going to a nature preserve or park, I forget about 40 minutes away to learn about healthy habitats. They will be playing in a creek looking for living creatures and determining if the creek is healthy or sick. They were to pack a change of clothes and a towel.

Not a good day to be outside.

Robin, sounds like a really nice birthday evening for Jim!

Ann, good for you on the workout but it does sound like the timing could have been better!

And hopefully the kids will have fun despite the weather.

Does anyone have a Fitbit, or a Nike Fuelband?

I'm thinking of trying one of them. I looked on ebay this morning, hoping to find a used Fuelband, people were selling used ones for more than I could buy a new one off of Amazon. Ridiculous!

Fitbit has a new device, that looks like the Fuelband coming out sometime this spring.

Yeah, dinner was later than normal, and I knew I didn't want to wait too late to workout or else I'd never get calmed down to go to bed.

Ann, I have another BT friend who is using the jawbone and loves it. She had a fitbit and likes the jawbone much better. It is good for both Iphone and Android systems now. I am thinking of getting one to motivate me to move more during the day.

The reviews are generally better than either the fitbit or the nike fuel band. I was afraid of losing the fitbit a la Kendra, but I didn't want to pay so much for the nike fuel band that didn't give as much info. The sleep ap is something I would like to investigate. It has an alarm mode that vibrates to let you know to move your tush throught the day. It is water resistant so you can wear it in the shower or rain- just not swimming.

Good morning Ghoulies!

Why does my font look weird this morning?

I wanted to just stay home in bed this morning. If I didn't have things I needed to get done at work I would have. I go to bed early, I'm up at O'stupid thirty to get in here. I had just a few minutes of sleep last night and some 800 number called the house. They're not allowed to call after 9:00, and it was well after that. Because I had a few minute nap I was then wide awake. It was almost 11:00 until I fell back to sleep.

On top of that I helped work with the 10U AND the 12U pitchers last night. I caught softballs for 6 girls. Catching them also means throwing them back. We were in the grass, and it was wet so there was no rolling them. As soon as I walked in the door at home last night I grabbed an ice pack. I taped it up this morning, but it REALLY hurts.

Here's what happened on Keri's field trip yesterday.

She had a good time, didn't get too wet.

It was the end of the day, they were getting ready to board the bus, some of the kids were waiting on the kids who did get wet and were changing clothes.

Keri and a few other girls were out by the bus waiting, and the one girl was using her backpack as a jump rope. She got her feet caught and did a face plant in the parking lot. There was blood everywhere! Keri said her teeth came through her lip right under her nose. The only good thing about this was her dad was along as a chaperone. He called an ambulance, and her mom to meet them at the hospital. Donnie and a mom shuffled all the kids onto the bus, he said some of them were freaking out at the sight of all the blood, and both of them said there was A LOT. Poor kiddo. Keri sent her friend a text last night asking if she was ok, but she didn't get a response. I'm sure she'll be sore for a few days. I'm hoping she didn't lose any teeth.

Morning Ghoulies.

It is a bright and cloudy day here. I am packing up to head to the coast in a little while. The intent is to get a run in before I go.

May is my month to get my shi-t together. Or at least attempt it. I am doing a plank a day challenge with Dee and some others and the monthly challenge. If I can get my routine down this month, I can carry it through June when my Mom gets here.

Oh I hope she is ok. The face bleeds so much it is very scary. I hope no teeth are lost.

Sorry about your arm, hope it doesn't hurt too much today. Matter of fact, you should go home and nap as soon as possible!

Good moring Robin.

I'm not sure what hurts the worst right now, my shoulder, or my quads/hamgstrings/butt from all the squatting and standing last night while I was catching. Talk about a leg workout! I'm walking a bit funny this morning.

How do I get in on the plank a day challenge?
