Settlers of Catan is a board game, but you can play it online also.  I don't play online, but a friend learned how to play by playing the free version online.  It has quite a following and there is a yearly tournament which some people take quite seriously.  I just play for fun (to win).

Good morning Ghoulies!

I AM WFH TODAY! It is not fit out there for man nor beast!

Currently it is 10 degrees and WINDY!

We get a small respite from the cold tomorrow and Sunday. Monday it is to be -2 overnight, with a high of 8 on Tuesday, and low of 1 on Tuesday night. Wednesday it is to get up to 16. COLD COLD COLD!

The house is warm though, the kiddos and pups are still sleeping (they have a 2 hour delay today). I will bundle them up before they head to school. All is well.

We are good here. School is cancelled. Donnie went to work, but when he called to tell me he made it in he said he'd probably be home early. We are staying in today but probably going out tonight. Donnie needs new shoes for work, and Caleb needs a new coat.

We had strong winds also, but no doors blown open.  Lots of branches down.

Ann, wish I was able to wfh.  My office is freezing.  I'm going to get a thermometer so that I can see what the temps are in the office.  I may have to get the building guys on it, cause it does not ever feel like any heat in this space.

Our office in Raleigh is like that, or the other extreme. Some offices or cubes are freezing and others boiling. There really is no middle ground. It is funny to see folks in the same cube warren wearing sweaters, while others are in t-shirts. Our admin assit wears gloves because her hands are always too cold. I am VERY thankful to Wfh.

Wow sounds cold for all of you.  We are just our usual 40s and damp.  We have actually had a pretty dry winter.

Good morning Ghoulies!

I'm WFH today. We got freezing rain yesterday, and were still getting some at 3:30 this morning when I was going to leave for work. I'm not driving in ice.

I may work from home tomorrow, too. They are calling for the coldest temperatures in over 20 years here overnight tonight, into tomorrow, and tomorrow night. It is to get up in the 40's by the weekend then.

Good morning Ghoulies!

It is currently -4 degrees here, and with the windchill it feels like -21. Most of the local schools are closed today because of the weather. I'm WFH. The kiddos and I are going to bake some cookies this afternoon.

I hope everyone is snuggled in and warm!

Good morning Ghoulies!

Good morning Ann.  I wish I was wfh today.  Drove in and it was only 5 degrees outside.  I still haven't gotten a thermometer to take the temperature in my office, but I did wear longjohns today to help survive the cold.  Brrrrr!  Send me some cookies when they are nice and warm.

Good morning Ghoulies!

It is to get up into the 20's today, and be in the 50's by Saturday.

I took the day off today. Keri took a few blows to the head in a basketball scrimmage last night, and I'm concerned about her having a concussion. She was loopy on the drive home last night, and when she was on the bench during the scrimmage Donnie and I both thought she looked out of it. I'm going to try and get her in to the pediatrician today.

We had some excitement here around 3:00 this morning. Milo was barking, which he normally doesn't do. Donnie got up and let him out, while he was waiting to let him come back in he heard a weird noise. He did some investigating, and the pipes to the laundry room, which is out in the garage had burst. There was water going everywhere. He got the water turned off, and already had taken Thursday off of work, he has some days to burn or he'll lose them. He knows what his Thursday project is now, fixing pipes, and insulating under the laundry room better. We can't do laundry until Friday though. No one get dirty!

I hope that Keri does not have a concussion.  Wow, they must play rough up in your neck of the woods, either that or people are more aware of concussions today.  I went through 16 years of sports with my kids and never had one concussion from mine or any other kid on the team.  Hope she is okay.

Bummer about the water pipes.  Yeah that he can fix it himself.

Bought two thermometers last night to bring into work.  One digital, the other not.  The digital one is not working, LOL.  The other one is reading 64 degrees in here right now.

x2 oh this. There  must be some rough action in those games. Glad that Milo alerted you to the danger!

How is Keri today? I hope better.

I am home from having to travel to Raleigh for a completely inane meeting. Requiring staff to go to a "welcome to the new Chief" meeting in potentially life threatening conditions is stupid and inconsiderate.

Speaking of cold... our furnace isn't working today. The house is 57 degrees! Brrrrr. Hope the repair man can get here today.
