Wow!  Frozen pipes, kaput furnace, and no-heat offices!  I hope that you all have thermals and gloves!

How is Keri doing?  Did you get a Dr appointment?

I am back in the office today. It was incredibly hard to get out of my nice warm bed this morning.

Dee, I called her pediatrician and they said they could order a CT scan at the hospital. I didn't think she was that severe, and while not invasive having a scan done would probably stress her out more than necessary. We spent a quiet day at home yesterday. She is going to school today, and she'll go to practice tonight, but I emailed her coaches letting them know she was not to do any live practicing. She can work on shooting and ball handling, if they're walking through a play she can participate, but nothing live where she could take a hit to the head.

Smart move Ann on limiting Keri's chances of getting her head banged.  Better to take precautions.  Has Caleb completely recovered from his concussion?

Good morning, Kendra.

Yes, Caleb has been cleared by his doctor to return to activity. He had 2 weeks off, because of the Christmas/New Year's break. I'm glad he had that long off, sometimes the kids are only out of practice for a week, this being his second concussion I was grateful for the extra time off.

So today, I brought in a digital thermometer to try and get a clearer reading of the office temp.  It is currently 63 degrees.  Someone yesterday borrowed my mercury thermometer and has not returned it yet.  Grrrr.

I'm going to try and record the temp at certain time throughout the day and after a week, I'll present my results to the building manager and see if there is anything that can be done.  This is crazy.  I'm wondering if in the summer I am going to boil up with little or no air conditioning.  LOL

That is just too dang cold!

We are allowed space heaters in here, and almost everyone has them. They tried to take them away last year and we protested, I use mine year round. Our building is an old warehouse that was converted, we don't really have a heating system for the area we are in. We get some heat, but not a lot. If I didn't have my space heater I'd sit here and shiver all day long, can't get any work done that way.

The doc yesterday said I could start very slowly with weight bearing exercise! Yippee skippee1

Now I get to go to town to have a mamo today. Fun times abound.

Since I can't do laundry yet, I actually am a little. Hopefully Donnie gets the pipes fixed in the laundry room today. If he doesn't would you mind if I throw a few loads in your machine? I can dry them at home, I just need to wash them.

Sure, just toss my load in the dryer while I am at the docs.

My stepdaughter told me last night that she wants to do another 5k in the next month or so, another 10k in the summer and then a 1/2 in the fall.  I am very pleased that she is getting into this!  She jogs and walks, but is determined!

Ann, hope the machine gets fixed.  Glad that Keri is doing okay. 

Robin, YEAH!! for weight bearing!  PROGRESS!!!!

Kendra, someone just came into your office and took the thermometer?  Or did they ask first, but haven't brought it back?  Either way, hope you can get the situation resolved.

My office has a very small, slow leak.  Luckily in an area that can be avoided.  However, with all the rain this week, I sure hope it doesn't get worse!  My clients have all been understanding.  Pretty much everyone knows that we have ongoing problems with the roof.

I am WFH today, we are getting freezing rain, and a little snow again. I don't drive in that crap.

This happened yesterday where my kids go to school. The "incident" was in the HS, but the HS, MS, and ES are all on the same campus. The kiddos and I talked about it last night, and I told them it was a better safe than sorry situation. Apparently the teacher that reported it is coming under a lot of fire right now from some parents, and a lot of people that are not even connected to our school in any way. That is wrong. She made a mistake. The hall pass that the kid had was apparently a 2' long iguana that had the end of his tail broken off. The student was walking around the hallways with the head in his elbow, or shoulder, and his index finger on one of the legs, so it probably did look like he had a gun. Honestly, I'm glad everyone is safe and that it turned out to be nothing.

On the brighter side of yesterday at school related activities...

 Caleb had an away basketball games yesterday. Donnie went to the game, and I stayed home to take Keri to basketball practice. I wish I could have made it to the game. Caleb doesn't get a whole lot of playing time, he hasn't been playing that long, but he is big, and athletic, and the coaches like him. Yesterday he got to play the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter, and the entire 4th quarter. He took 2 shots, that he missed, but Donnie told me he had a lot of rebounds, and blocked shots, and he had several assists. Caleb told me the one shot he blocked the ball was up in the air, he took a swat at it and hit it so hard it flew into the wall of the gym with a loud BOOM! Donnie started laughing, and said yeah, he nailed that one pretty good. I'm glad he had a good time, and played well!
