Tanya's time estimates are pretty good. Probably back to the valley around 5:00ish  though.

Ummm...ok Debbie downer. WTF?

Ok....so with Mountain Man climbing coming up, I would like to propose that this coming Sunday we either do Usery or the NE Mesa loop with Las Sendas and Power Ranch climbing.  We should also do it with a plastic bag tied around our heads to simulate the lack of oxygen we will experience in Flag!

Because it's fun to see and chat with your friends. It gets you out of the house. It actually gets you on your bike.  Being in a group ride pushes you harder than on your own.  Breakfast afterward.  Do I need to keep listing stuff?

So are you suggesting that we make our rides more structured and have a fast group, and slower group, and make sure there are always a minimum of 2 people in the slower group so no one has to be alone?  And this would mean that sometimes the faster people would have to volunteer to stay back and take their turn leading the second group?  Assuming that newer people would most likely fall into the second group and not really know the routes.  I can live with that.  I don't have a problem with always having that set up so we truly have a no drop group.  Is that what you would like to see?

I think I'll try and make the group ride this Sunday provided there will be one.

Let me know when and where and I'll take Saturday as a rest day so I can join up with everybody.

Two questions:

How long are the group rides and what would you estimate the average mph of the ride to be?

I can hang at about 18-19 mph so I'm not too worried about getting left in the dust but I know that a lot of you have a race coming up and I'm not sure I'd be able to go 40 miles yet.

Alright, keep me posted!

WELL for this weekend - I have a couple of propositions:

1 - J and I want to have a Tour De France Party where everyone brings their trainer and we ride a stage as a group. I say we choose teams and even have prizes involved since the way Josh and I play if your rides is in a breakaway or sprint etc you are stuck doing what your rider/ team is doing heh heh! Afterward we have food, party, Rockband, merriment...whatever.

All that is required is:
- You
- Bike
- Trainer
- Some kind of yoga mat or other mat to catch the massive amounts of sweat
- Bring a personal fan if you are smart (not someone to yell "yeah YOU" but an oscillating fan or something") not required
- Food & or drink

Sunday's Stage: Two cat 1 climbs
The big moves will start happening now with no less than three mountain passes – Col des Ares, Col de Peyresourdre et Col d’Aspin, and a very tough final descent to Bagnères-de-Bigorre.The climbers must take this opportunity to rise to the top of the overall placings.

2 - Ride some hillz, somewhere...sometime.

Who is interested in what? We'll set up times and add directions based on what everyone wants to do!

Dude - 80 bucks at performance just go buy one for the weekend and return it! Not to be missed! We'll have our own little living room peloton!!!

Mirg - YAY!! I hope you make it out.  Even if it is the TdF craziness at Jen and Josh's.  We always have a great time!!  AND the TdF only comes around once a year, so you have to jump on the chance to mix it up when you can!!!

BUY the trainers!!!

Paulette - Good point.  You are not being selfish, just truthful.  The good news is if we do the TdF thing at the Bot's house, no one will get dropped!!!

(Is there a big communal shower after the ride?)

Come to the trainer party!!!

And if we do ride outdoors lately it looks as if people have been doing either loop rides or sticking around 25-30 miles. Your average MPH makes it as if you will have NO PROBLEMS keeping up, heck we'll draft you!

Some of us will start training for El Tour and SOMA/ Silverman soon so the rides will get longer, but there are typically shorter options available.

Hope to see you soon!

PJ - Its true we have had these issues for a little while now as our group grows and changes so do the needs. We will all have days when people need to go FASTER than others and some will need to hold back. Would it be nice if we could have groups of people so that no one rides alone ABSOLUTELY but I guess there is no way to guarantee this. As we have learned triathlon is an individual sport and even though we all LOVE to train as a group it will consistently boil down to the common denominator of - INDIVIDUAL. So...we must be comfortable in knowing this.

Tanya - YES I have TWO SHOWERS! I would offer the hot tub as a GIANT communal bathtub but thats just NASTAY!!! But its still available. HA!

ETA - One of my bathrooms has a shower and a tub so while someone showers someone else can use the tub, thought Jerry might like to know this. :p
