It puts me at 2 hrs for the ride and in safety. Just have to be well organized. I have a nasty headache and could use some sleep. Getting used to 2 a days is harder than I thought it would be. Maybe it's cause they're also longer 2 a days than I'm used to doing. Always go for safety first. No workout is worth dying 2 hours on the drainer is like monumental. I'd still go with 1:15. I can pm you a hideous ladder workout that is that long if you'd like.Sure. I've done ladders in the pool and Coach T has some on aero base builder. It's basically just hard x minutes, rest then adding a minute to each set until going back down...right? |

I'm asking Nibbs what I should do. I really don't want to get up before 5AM to do 1:45 on the bike in one shot. I was thinking about splitting the ride tomorrow, doing part in the morning and again after dinner. I do have another ride the same length on Saturday I could do all in one shot so it's not like I'm blowing off doing the distance/time at once. PLUS, 1. it's now pouring out there so it would mean drainer...2. even with my little headlight my black/silver bike on poorly lit (now wet) roads with no shoulders sounds both dangerous and crazy...What do the Nibbs think? I think you are a little dangerous and crazy. Personally, I'd split it - it's a couple months to the race. You're doing the distance on Saturday anyway. And you've got bike miles coming out yer ears. MHO.
Me, dangerous and crazy?? okay...I'm guilty on those charges...so what's the lawyer gonna do about it? Join you? |

Let me see if I can find it. |

I'm using my stick on the outside of my thigh where the muscle is. If that hurts and is tight is that usually an ITB problem? Is the pain in the upper thigh, near the buttocks? That's where your IT band originates. And it usually presents with pain in the outside of the knee of the affected leg. Whether it's an ITB issue or not, the stick will help break up any knots and loosen tight tendons and ligaments (according to my chiro) so use it frequently. |

I've had a lot of pain in the upper thigh that I thought was glutes. It's hurting on the outside of the knee and hurts most when I bend it. I'm using my stick and started doing some of the stretches on the Running Times website. It actually feels like it's helping, so I'm guessing that's the problem. |

You may want to back off on whatever sport is causing it the most aggravation to let it heal. (I plan on doing this AFTER Mooseman ). Also, if you can see a massage therapist, that feels great and helps relax those tight hips and glutes. |

I have the bike on the trainer in my garage in case I'm up for the challenge tomorrow morning. It took me a few minutes reading it to figure out that the 90-100, 90 or just 100 + all referred to cadence. Yeah, fatigue is nasty stuff. |

When I first saw it, I though an hour on the trainer, how bad can it be? Oh, and there was no way I could hold that high cadence in the big chain ring for the amount of time recommended. I just did the best I could and thanked God when I got to recover in the little ring Have fun!! |

My training plan is much lower than what I've been doing over the last month. Yeah, the massage therapist on the bike ride did something to release some of the tension in the glutes and it felt great after that. I have her card so I might have to start seeing her. |
