Right now, there's a lot of me to go around. I have decided that I am going to get back to my "old" self by my 28th bday on January 3rd. That is exactly 2 months from today.

Depends. Did you like high school and the people there? That's the first question. From there, it depends. We might need a flowchart to assess.

I am torn about mine. Mine will be in June - at least I think they do it in June. It's 2009, regardless.

201 this morning, thankyouverymuch.  That was actually surprising, given my gluttony yesterday.  Was expecting at least 204.

That implies that you actually liked and kept in touch with the people with whom you went to high school. I don't keep in touch with anyone, and there are probably 2 or 3 people I'd actually want to see, for old times' sake. But I'm also not married, so I don't want to go because the vast majority of the "cool" folks are married, still all hang out - nothing has changed for them. So it'd just be like high school all over again.

Also, I'm sure former best friend will be there and since she's married and has a kid, I'm sure she will take the opportunity to rub it in my face.

How did HS treat you?

For me, when I went to mine, it was an opportunity to catch up with folks that I truly wanted to see and hadn't heard from in a while.  The rest of the d'bags (male and female) I could care less about.

All stuff related to my high school ends up at my parents' house. So if I get an invitation, they will tell me about it. Doesn't necessarily mean I will go.

Yeah, There's a group of 6 or 7 of us who pretty much grew up together from the beginning.  I consider them family.  Got to see most of them last month on my trip home.

Oh, and don't think for a minute that we don't act completely retarded when we get together, just like back in the day.  If we're out in public, we're all mild-mannered.  But when we're out camping or drinking or otherwise having a good time, it's on.

I moved to the school district I graduated from when I was 9. So apparently, I missed the critical time of incorporation. And I didn't stay in, or move back to the area. The "cool" kids all went there from kindergarten on, maybe went away to college, but they all moved back - several of them married each other - people who'd been dating since junior high. Which is odd, because 1.) it's a very large school district - not everyone knows everyone - unless you're on a varsity team, then everyone knows you, and 2.) it's a large, developed town. It's not the DC burbs, but it's not the hillbilly sticks either. Not the type of place that people live their entire lives.

Oh... my 20th is coming up in 2009... I AM planning on going to that one, but I also think I will have done an IM by then... not that THAT's the reason I am considering the IM.

My 30 year is this fall, the Friday before the Philly marathon. It's in the DC area so I'd have to take off work Friday and stay overnight. Then I have the marathon on Sunday for which I've been working very hard to get a BQ. Then, it's Thanksgiving week with my duaghter's wedding the Friday after Thanksgiving.  Already taking 2 days off and I have a lot going on at work with the year end looming. I'd really love to go but it's horrible timing. I haven't been to one yet; never felt like I wanted too before.

I kind of regret missing the other ones so I'd say go.

well... given that my friends and I used the song "Mr. Cellophane" as our theme song in high school... that would be entirely appropriate.

 Of course, thinking about it now... having "Mr. Cellophane" as my theme song might actually have been part of the problem...
