Getting started with breakfast, coffee, then a Computrainer workout, hard.  Sad to say my legs are toast.  I ran 10,.5 miles yesterday at a great pace for me, spun out light for an hour to rest the legs and then swam open water last night to test the wet suit.  All good.

I did the 12.5-mile time trial at about 22.6 mph unofficial Tuesday.  Near PR.  I swam 45 mins continuous before it.  Legs were tired so I could a been a contender.

I did kettlebells for am hour after running on Monday.  I did 100 snatches in 5 mins.  The trainer was really psyched.  I did 70 straight, set it down to wipe my hands and then did 30 more.  The rest of the hour was glorious work on cleans, presses, swings, rows, pushups, pullups and other assorted k bell work.  Loved it.  Really liking feeling strong and lean.

This week has convinced me to add Racine 70.3 in July.  Changing it out for an Oly that same weekend.

Quiet around here yesterday! I guess everyone was busy training hard! Cool

Soooooo busy training!  Trying to put in some big weeks in the next 3.  I'm going on vacation after that for week, so limited training.  Then it will be 3 more big weeks and a week taper for HIM.  That's the plan anyway.  Not sure about tonight yet.  My friends son was on a cub scout camping trip over the weekend and fell down a ravine. Unfortunately, Aiden hit his head on a rock during the fall and passed away.  Nine years old!   Wake is tonight.

Any loss of life is tragic, but 9 years old, wow.  My sympathies to you and his family, I couldn't imagine dealing with that.

I am planning on a moderate 1 1/2 outdoor ride today and then off on a long weekend getaway.  Hoping to get one more run in on Saturday (will be first time over 30 minutes since October!).  This week is definately a down week for me.

Heading upta camp this weekend! Temperature dependent, may possibly attempt my first OWS while there. Will also get in plenty of running with my running companion, Maysie (my dog).

Hope everyone has a safe and fantubulous Memorial Day weekend!

Good morning!

Whats everyone up to today?  I am procrastinating getting my run in!

<--------feeling remorseful for skipping out on swimming last night.  I just really wasn't in the mood after coming home from the wake.

Brian, first off, I am really sorry for you, and especially your, friend's loss.  So tough.  And don'y beat your self up for missing a workout.  I can totally relate to needing to skip a workout (or multiple workouts) because of crisis in life.

I was able to get in a shortish bike ride on the trainer this morning.  And now trying to get through the work day!

Hope everyone else is doing well in both training and life!

It's going to be tough to fit something in tonight.  I'm tied up at work and won't be able to go to the gym here today.  I have to wait till I get home.  Most important for me to do tonight is a run.  After that's done, if I have time, I can do an easy ride on the bike or make up the swim from yesterday.

Certainly understandable!

Great work Ice! Getting back to some serious strength training with the kettlebells is one of the things I am looking forward to after recovery!

Well, today is the day!! Sneaking in an early short trainer ride before heading to the hospital.  I have to be there at 6:15 so not a lot of time on the bike.  They said I should be done and out of there by noonish.

I didn't see anyone racing this weekend, but let us now if you are!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

This reminded me, the day of my cancer surgery I got up and rode 17 miles so I'd have 3500 for the year to date in June 2006.   We're nuts.   The last surgery I had was to take out that tumor from my colon.  In on Thursday.  Out by Saturday to the amazement of my doc.  Back on the trainer by Tuesday.  It's good to amaze the doctors.

Love ya Ken.  All good things to you.

Some of you probably know my distaste in swimming. Sad...looking at my logs, pretty low numbers, and 80% of it is from triathlons.

I have one more triathlon coming up, and will do a quick swim on Wednesday with my tri club, then the real work begins.

I was just notified by a local triathlon coach that I won FREE SWIMMING for TRIATHLETES lessons for a month. HOW cool is that?! PERFECT timing too because I have to start swimming in June and get my butt in gear for my long course triathlon.

The downside (yes there is) is it starts at 5:30am. ugh, but I know in the end it'll totally be worth it and hopefully by the end of the month I will start to like swimming again and perhaps sub 2:00 swims.   I'm so looking forward to this!
