When I was little we watched the black and white TV ....and only had 5 channels to choose from. I win!

and tomorrow you are old

Yes. Did you buy me a walker? Or snazzy cane?

I have a walker leaned right up against my bike from my surgery, if you want it....it is yours!!!

Does it have the little tennis balls on the legs?

What's up with that anyway?  If everyone does that, then there must be a design flaw.  If WE know it happens, surely, the good folks over at Ted's Senior Walker and Cane Imporium must also know that so why don't they change the design to not need tennis balls?

Unless....  the good folks over at Joes Tennis Ball Imporium are giving kickbacks to NOT change the design, therefore, charging seniors to buy a 3 ball can of tennis balls, knowing they only need 2?

It's an Imporium conspiracy, I tell you.

I've heard that the tennis balls are NOT GOOD for the recovery process or for the body at all. So it's probably a health industry thing - don't want to change a design that will actually deteriorate the progress. People add them on to make it easier to get around, but in the long term it's no good. After my grandma's back surgery she was very clearly instructed NOT to add tennis balls, or her progress would pretty much stop.

Yes, I know.

The rubber things are too grippy.  But that's exactly what they are supposed to be for safety.  But then they stick when they don't pick up the walker enough out of lazyness or weakness.  So they put the tennis balls on them to slide it, which is unsafe and defeats the purpose.  It would probably be unsafe to sell them like that.

I was actually trying to write an entertaining "Imporium" joke/story/composition.  Not really asking the question.

it's because a walker is supposed to help you walk and just offer a little balance.  they put the tennis balls on because they just want to push it along.  they DO make walkers with wheels and brakes to tap into that market, because at 85 and in the nursing home, they don't really give a crap about pushing vs. actually walking! (i worked in an "independent living" retirement home and everyone decorated theirs.  it was impossible to navigate the dining room with all the walkers and a big tray of foods!)

And I've learned not to post recipes in TAN. I *almost* did earlier with the pizza crust talk, but feared the repercussions greatly.

Hey, does anyone remember how good Chariots of Fire is?

I'm slowly starting to record "classics" for the wife to watch since she has been required to watch some of them for her classes.

For example, she needs to watch Sophie's Choice, Glory, Kramer vs Kramer, etc.

So I personally added Goodfellas to the list as well as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Chariots of Fire...  It's been years since I saw them, so sort of forgot.  But they are saved up now for future viewing?

I may become Literal Jim for the remainder of the day.

You be sensitive. You asked a question and it got answered! Sorry did not realize it was one of those rhetorical questions

And I've learned not to post recipes in TAN. I *almost* did earlier with the pizza crust talk, but feared the repercussions greatly.

I'm aint sensative.  But ya'll must not git me...  or understand my yokes.

And I don't THINK there's a Ted's Senior Walker and Cane Imporium.  But I could be wrong.  I mades it up.
