Morning Ghoulies.

Somehow, it is still raining here. It did stop for a little to give the birds hope. Then BANG. more rain. The forecast is for rain all day. I have heard rumors of a fiery orb in the sky that gives off heat and light. I think it is a myth. I have to go get my car serviced this am. If all goes well I'll get a swim and my allergy shot in, too.

Good morning, Robin.

Hope you're staying high and dry there!

So far!

You can hear the river roar. It is amazing when you see it the way it usually is and then now. Occasionally you can here this massive grinding noise and that is the giant boulders moving. I'll try to get some pics today as I drive by.

It is easy to respect it when you see and hear it like this.

Later. I am off to see what the night rain has done to the river. When we drove through last night about 10 ish, it was right at the banks and spilling over in a couple of places.

Hey Robin! I'm thinking about planting some sort of berry bushes. Either blue, black, or rasp...

What do I need to know?

After soccer and softball games on Saturday... and my nap, Keri and I worked in her gardens.

We planted a few more strawberry plants, and I need to stop on my way home and see if I can find 2-3 more.

We also planted seeds for peas and green beans. I need to remember to throw the pumpkin seeds on the ground tonight since they're calling for rain tomorrow and Wednesday.

Blue berries are the easiest of the three. The others require a trellis to support them if you actually want to pick any. Get a couple of different varieties of blueberries early, middle and late fruiting to make sure you extend the season. They like a sunny place, not too wet, not too dry (average soil) and make sure you don't plant them too close together. There is no point in getting dwarf ones unless you are going to put them in a pot. Get regular ones as large as you can afford. they start to bloom and fruit fairly early but small gallon-sized ones will be a couple of years, at least, before you see fruit.

If you do raspberries. Make a simple trellis with poles and wires on both sides and plant them about 2 feet apart. You will get fruit the next year. People put nets over them to make sure that birds don't eat all the berries. I don't. It just kills the birds cause the get caught in them and there is always enough fruit for all of us.

Thanks, Robin. I want to put them out for the wildlife, so I'm not worried about nets or anything.

The Fitbit Flex came out today. That is the wrist wearing activity tracker like the Up and Fuelband. It is $99. I'm seriously considering getting it, just to compare it to the Up.

Robin - do you know you have to have an android or iOS phone to sync the Up? You have to plug it into the headphone port to sync.

The Flex you can sync with your computer.

I told Keri I would be down at grandma's today when she got off of the bus, with snacks, to take her to watch a high school softball game today.

6.5 hours ago I opened a ticket with a company for a failed part on a piece of equipment. The replacement isn't here yet, despite us having a 4 hour support window with them. Grrrr

I hope the part gets here in the next 2 hours so I can go get my girl!

I think I'll just stick with what I have ordered. The food logging and compatibility with the runkeeper app (which I may start using) is a plus.

I am sitting at my desk right now doing nothing. I just have to sit here and wait for the part to be delivered, then it will take me 2 minutes to do the swap.

What really pizzes me off is that there is another person here, who is scheduled to be here until 3:30, that could do it. He can work up to 10 hours a week for our team. The old boss would have just told me to go home and that guy could take care of it. The new boss doesn't see things that way. I am not a happy camper anymore. It's not fair for me to be the only one responsible here. The other 2 sites have multiple people on our team. I am the only 1 here.
