Morning TAN, preparing to enjoy my post-race vacation day during which I will clean my apartment and leave for Madison to watch the Vikings beat the Packers, and then attend meetings for the next two days.  I will probably put a race report up after I eat.  Which, by the look of my fridge, means after I shower, go to the grocery store, and eat.

Yes, that was not a good game for the Mountaineers.

Also, there must be a SERIOUS shortage of single non-d'bag guys around here...

Morning TAN. Went to dr re: hip. Got some stuff to do and try. She also suggested that if I had someone to massage my glute and thigh with the heel of their palm, that would be good too. Any takers?

Eye is fine now, btw. Odd.

Morning TAN.

Average to good weekend.  Taper started on saturday for my race this weekend.  Not happy about that.  Does it really require taking that many days off in a week to get your legs ready for a race?  I think not - but sometimes the bulb is dim in this one.

Nice. I had this chocolate peanut butter ice cream blizzard thing. It was fabulous. We were out on a motorcycle ride, and decided to stop for ice cream.

YOM. I love chocolate and peanut butter together. Of course, I think there is something wrong with anyone who does not.

If you haven't already, please give our lovely TriAya some love on her blog; ChrisM has also stared a CoJ thread for her.  I know she's been saying things are rough, but I didn't realize just how rough they were.  Be warned though boys, she's got some nice pictures up.

I was supposed to meet with my advisor and other one of my committee members this morning (two different meetings).  But they both got called into a meeting so now I'm bumped back until tomorrow for my advisor and next week for the other committee member. Bah.  Guess I'll clean my desk and review my notes for class.

I need a nap

Sup, TAN....

I feel like hammered siht this morning. Because I was doing yard work/shopping/house cleaning all day yesterday followed by having friends over, I didn't do my scheduled run (9 miles) until 5:30PM. I actually felt great for the run, then got home and the endorphins were still flowing. So it was 9:30 before I even felt like eating. After dinner I kinda stared at the wall for a while till I finally felt sleepy.

As an added bonus, I was on call last night. Nothing all day long when I was doing boring stuff, oh no-- the pages started coming at 10:30PM when I was trying to fall asleep, and continued a little more than hourly till about 1:30. Then at 2:13AM my pager starts beeping the "low battery" warning. I go digging around the house in a stupor and can't find a friggin' AA battery anywhere. I call my junior resident and let him know that I'm just turning my pager off--call the cell or home. And, of course, 30min after I hang up and actually fall asleep, I get another call.

So, with almost no sleep, I engaged in mortal combat with my snooze bar and flew into work with minutes to spare. I'm finally sitting at my desk enjoying a little coffee and feeling better about life.

 Bah.

I've learned that a long or hard run late in the day is roughly equivalent to pounding 6 cups of coffee, and that my luck generally sucked last night. Yell
