Subject: RE: November CRUSHERSQueenZipp - 2010-11-14 1:53 PM Stacie, You are at the last week before the half mary. No major fitness will be gained this week. In fact, most of the HM training plans I have seen would call for no more than 5 miles today and 1-2 miles at most this week before the race. If you feel sick you should rest more so you'll be able to make it to the starting line. Thanks I needed that. I altered the training plan I was using - it is Hal Higdon's and I was only to go 10 miles. I altered it to go to 12 if I could handle it just so I knew I had run most of the distance before. For me in my head I can grunt it out for 1.1 more miles, not sure if I could convince myself to grunt out 3.1 more. I haven't had any problems laying light during the week with a long run on the weekends so I don't think it will hurt me next weekend. This week is 3 on tues and 3 on thurs depending on how it goes - they may be run/walks just to keep the legs moving. Feeling better this afternoon - honestly I think it was the after affects of being on the boat yesterday - it was rocky so I didn't eat or drink much - to the effect of 1/2 a sandwich, 2 granola bars and 2 sodas between 5am and 4pm. I ate a normal dinner but I think the damage had been done by there. I get really bad headaches if I get dehydrated kind of a kick in the pants to say "hey lady - water would be nice"... Combined with getting up at 145am to drive to the lake and not getting in bed until after 10 the night before and last night. So I drank up today - ate normal and pretty healthy and feel 100% better this evening. The nap this morning and the eating is what I think caused it. One of these days I will learn. |
