tahrens - 2009-11-30 11:29 AM Suzy, I was catching up on my reading so it is a few pages back. On page 449 Steve posted a link to ST about Matt Hoover and his Kona slot. It was in response to Kim's post about the Biggest Loser.

Doug, I've been told to set them up in a door frame.  And glad to hear your are liking your coach. That is what I will be looking for as well.  I want more than a cyber plan to follow, I want someone  I can access and say, "I feel like this..." and they say, "you are suppose to" or "let's try this."  Hope things continue well for you.  If you are referring to swimming at TAC, they are a great facility. Sometimes you get lucky and their olympic pool is set up with 50yd lanes for longer lap workouts.

Doug/Tracy--I was talking to my bike builder about rollers and my tendency to be a big giant clod.  His suggestion was a mattress on one side of me, a wall on the other side and wearing tennis shoes until I got used to them.  He said if I was clipped in and fell it might be a bad idea for thsi old body....."it might be a bad idea"?  Haven't braved them yet.....

Anyone else not able to get to ST?

I just tried to log in to check up on messages and got a message that I was banned.

Pretty sure there is a mistake since I don't post much over there, and nothing that would get me banned.

Wonder if it's IP based since I am on Disney's IP space. Dunno, I sent Dan an e-mail, that was the only one I could find from the home page.

I love the rollers.  Here's they first day I had them.  I've been on them for a while, but just bought a new Kurt Kinetic Road Machine.  The rollers took about a week or two before I felt comfortable.  Then I added a 'training' (skateboard) wheel to the front.  This helps keep the front tire on, but you'll bounce back a bit rather than fall off.  I only paid about $100 for them.  There are also the Parabolic rollers that have the end of each roller flared a bit.

Suzy, you just gave me my first LOL of the day moment.  Visualizing that whole set up and then Paul walking  into the room made me laugh until there were tears in my eyes.   *said lovingly* while giggling!

Why Rollers Tracy?  Is there some GREAT advantage?  Price?  If it is just balance, where is the benefit in that?  Why not just him a "normal" trainer?  Rollers seem like WAY TOO MUCH work for working out!?

Just buy him a CompuTrainer (that way you can conviently stick the Trek on there ALL THE TIME !)

But on a brighter note...I just blocked out our Condo in Panama City for the HIM in May and in November to volunteer for IM FL.

LOL, down 100 running miles from last month.  This was my off season month, back to coached plan starting next week.

I did manage to squeeze in a run today around the resort.

Tracy, I always thought rollers would be cool, but you do have to pay attention the whole time or crash-boom, so not sure how great they would be for long indoor rides.  With a CT or regular trainer you can zone out and watch a movie or whatever.

I just realized that in December I need to bike about 100 miles to get over the 2500 mile mark for this year, and almost 75 miles on my 2 feet to get over the 1000 mile mark!  DANGIT!
