I've been wondering the same thing - seems like race season has started - so not as much interest in challenges

I don't know what the history has been 

seems like it's gone fairly smoothly from the outside - hopefully that is the case

It has.  It just takes a lot of time and I'm not sure what's going to happen with me in the next month. 

that's exactly why I haven't stepped up to run one - kudos to you!

There are usually still challenges.  Cat did her Tour de France in July and that's pretty much the peak of race season.  I think it comes down to the normal people not wanting to run another challenge right now and no one new deciding to do it. 

It's a good reason.  You'll do one sooner or later.

There is no way I could commit to running a challenge with my current schedule - it just wouldn't be good - well, I wouldn't feel good about it because I wouldn't be able to put the energy it needs and deserves

I've run Mizunos before and liked them, but I've got flat feet, and their fit wasn't as suited to wide feet as New Balance and Asics...

Try the Road Runner site.  They've got a shoe selector site that's pretty helpful.

What's on tap for the weekend for everyone?  I'm headed to the gym for my bike spin/run brick - will go back later today to do the swim

hmmmmm, going to the gym twice in one day and not feeling guilty - does that count as self indulgence?

Soccer for Elder Monkey (and picture day) this morning...hoping to hit the road for a long run this afternoon...long ride tomorrow (weather is supposed to be nicer then). Oh, and I should get in the pool so I don't let my Atoms down. Hey, it's a long time until Wednesday and I don't have to teach next week...I'll get-er-done.

I was thinking long run and core endurance today but my back is tight so it might be a medium run, core endurance and HOT TUB time. Lots of  errands to run and the house is FILTHY.

Biking tomorrow to take advantage of the sunshine!

Kristen, do you want to meet up at West Creek or something?  Other option for a closed loop but lots of hills is Petersburg Battlefield which is convenient for me but way out of your end of the world.  We could also do the race loop for Shady Grove, it just isn't as nice when its open to traffic.

Well,

I found about 20 houses to go drive by and as luck would have it, 4 of them are having open houses tomorrow

so - I'm off to do some drive by's (my oldest son advised me to 'not get caught' - lol) 

I have a confession to make here:  I am a running snob.

I got on the treadmill today and hated it.  In fact I hated it so much that I walked away after a 1/2 mile run.  I have gone from tready w/ ipod to outside with ipod to just let me outside in the past 6 months.  Very interesting observation and progression...
