I used to work in an Italian restaraunt when a lady came in and asked if we served spaghetti....

1) Did you have a claw hammer handy?

2) Did you use it appropriately as suggested by this situation?

i used to try to dye my hair brown, but it never worked. You could still see the red. Lame.

i had platinum streaks put in my hair once. That was nice. Otherwise i don't mess with the color at all.

3) "no, ma'am, we do not. We buy it. Did you bring any?"

Don't DO that! There are too few redheaded women out there. Way too many brunettes. I want more redheads.

Hi Schwamm!

When did you ladies start dying your hair because of grays?  I likely won't get many 'til it's too late for anyone to care (60+).  I would dye my hair more, but since it never gets cut, ya know.

Heh!  I get to do something fun today!

A client went against my recomendations of removing and replacing a couple of sections of Reinforced Concrete Pipe because it had standing water in them AND had structural cracks (it was broke...).

Instead, they went the cheap route and did some cosmetic fixes by filling the crack with grout and filling the bottom of the pipe with cement to make it drain.

He called the inspector and myself out to approve it.  Which I won't, and they will have to tear it out anyway!  Woot!

I enjoy when I can be a complete a-hole and have all the back-up to do so.....

I usually laugh when I hear stories of our inspectors making builders tear out entire walls because they didn't get the wiring inspected first, shoddy materials, etc.

Did they REALLY think they could get away with it?

Spokes - 2008-07-31 10:34 AM I just throw 4 green tea bags in a 1/2 gallon container, pour in hot water and wait.

Green Tea actually brews at a lower temp then Black Tea...  If you brew Green Tea with boiling water you actually burn it and it tastes nasty..

Correct-  should be steeped at 175 degrees for about 1 minute.

In my early 20s. It's not a lot, but I would pluck them out. Then I was scared about plucking too many out so just started coloring to avoid loosing too much hair.
My mom was pretty much completely gray in her late 30s/early 40s.

i haven't yet, and i don't think i will. Color matching would be stupid (i don't like the looks of bottle reds), and i'm going to go white. i can handle that. i do have a few white hairs, and it doesn't bother me. i'm getting older. Whoopdeedo.

Isn't there some liner technology that's available that coats the entire inside of the pipe with a liner so you don't have to tear it out?

Oh, I saw Hellboy II last night. VERY good. Much better than 1, which was also good. I recommend it if you like comic book movies.

More expensive than remove and replace (R&R).

It would still flow in the wrong direction and the crack may go through to the outside of the pipe, which is both structurally week AND exposes the rebar to corrosion from the out side.  It would eventually fail....

Nope, I get to tell them to rip it out...
