femanual - 2009-10-12 7:39 AM I'm living vicariously through all of you! I'm not quite ready to commit to an Ironman, but one day I know I will. St. Andrews campground is in the panhandle, and I will be camping there the weekend of IMFL. The nice lady at the campground said the run course passes through some of the campground, so I will be cheering and cowbelling as you pass! Smile

Best of luck to all. I love hearing about your journey.
Mindy

heh try going to an IM and NOT signing up good luck with that.....campground gets dark and lonely we will be looking for you!!!

Good training week for me. I took a vacation week so went to Disney with my bride and son for a few days and had plenty of time for my big day Friday. Long run last night after 1.5 hour swim, finished strong with a good negative split. I've been running with Blackberry and using internet radio "Pandora" with some cheap wrap around the ear headphones. It really makes the time pass and is hard to have a bad run with KC and the Sunshine Band- that's the way uh huh uh huh...

Looking forward to ONE MORE big training day!!!

Have Fun!!

Thats true. My husband keeps asking if I am going to get back in line the day after IMFL 2009 to sign up for IMFL 2010. I don't plan on it. Many do, its an exciting time. Ran 13 yesterday and felt great. My bike on Sat was a little disappointing. It was a group ride and I ended up riding really slowly w/ a friend who was having some issues, but sometimes you have to just say the hoot w/ your plans and do the right thing. The right thing was to make sure she was not alone. And my behind was still "in the saddle". Remember..."its nice to be nice".

Big training is all over for me. It's a recovery week that rolls right into my taper which is a good thing. My legs are absolutely wasted after a heavy 4 week block that included a HIM.

Glad to see everyone made it through the weekend safely!

Is anyone else sick of the mental mastrubation of calculating how may calories how much fluid blah blah blah....I can't even rememebr how many electrolyte tablets I took because I'm so sick of all the calculations......If I were not so fussy about not eating the same thing over and over I guess it would be easier

I don't calculate a thing. I eat a gel an hour or so on the bike, an uncrustable at some point, some cliff bars cut up, Babe Ruth bars and water and gatorade. that's it. so far, so good...on the run it's a gel every 5 or so miles, water and gatorade. Just re-found my love for sucking on jolly ranchers during long runs. never underestimate the yummyness of gum also. if it's really hot I'll take some electrolyte tabs. Gonna try out the chex mix this weekend. That sounded yummy!

This is why I love customized Infinit.  Then the run I just go for what I feel I need with a plan of a Gel ever 3-4 miles and drinking as I want.  I hate math, good thing I don't have to do too much of it, I'd go nuts.

ARE WE THERE YET?!?!

Totally and completely sick of it.  I am looking forward to trying something different for Ironman Wisconsin.  Currently I do water at ten minutes, gatorade at 20 minutes, gel at 30 minutes, and repeat for the bike.  I then do the same on the run water at 1 mile, gatorade at 2 miles, gel at 3 miles, repeat.  That combination gives me essentially 300 calories an hour and I vary it a little depending on how badly I want to vomit!  Definitely going to try infinit next year.

Anybody else obsessively checking the participant list for bib numbers.  I know it is 25 days out and they usually don't post until 10-12 days out but I can't help myself!

Yup. Had a HUGE chicken breast tonight and my tummy is growling already. It knows about the ice cream in the freezer.......

I am guilty....check for bib numbers several times a day & eating everything that I can get my hands.
I am so nervous about those bib numbers I swear my hands shake as I select Florida on the participant list and wait to see if they're up.

Nice job Melissa.  You are going to be awesome on Nov 7th!
