Yeah bro!  I like your style.  Hey Calvin, it was 60 degrees in CT today.  If it wasnt for a thin layer of ice an OWS might have been possible.  Two things for certain this spring: 1) lots of fast athletes. 2) Lots of tics and misquito's.

Thats how I'm going about looking at it for when I decide on mine if i want one haha.  60 sounds like a bump up from recently, and the fast spring athletes may be due to not wanting to deal w/ tics and mosquitoes .  I just did my run and was 70-75 out... ocean is 57-59 so still trying to do 1 OWS a week.

Monty - 2012-02-21 8:34 PM That is always good mojo! Enjoy the feel of raw speed! Going to hit 60 here in Philly on Friday....long outdoor ride anyone?

Rich, it's 60 in Philly today! How do you have time to go for long rides during the week? I'm stuck at the office all day...

Alas, I was stuck inside today all day as well as tomorrow. I am hoping Friday may get me some time outside....if it doesn't rain.

Dcx, let me know what kind of file. You can download the posted one from the original post. I'll also post one without colors in it tomorrow. I hope it's not too complicated to tattoo.

Those ideas for Tattoo's are sweet but with that much detail you are gong to have to get it in a size that is fairly large.

As far as defacing the USMC tattoo don't!! I am a former Marine of seven years!! Keep the USMC ink and then get some new ink as well. Chances are he values, and determination you learned while in the USMC will be what gets you to the finish line on July 22!!

Jim,

Thanks for sharing. Not sure what I'm going to do but I am of course thinking about a tattoo once i finish the course. It's just nice to be able to look at your design and start thinking of what I want on me for eternity.

Semper Fi Brother,

I don't have the USMC Tattoo yet, Never got one while I was in but saw another Ironman Marine who incorported the M-dot into his and I liked it.  I also had a friend suggest I use the EGA as the circle of the M-dot. Don't know what I will do until I play around with several designs.

Also, there are no former Marines... I'm not as lean, not, not as mean but I still a Marine. Oohrah!

Guys,I'm happy to report that after using finks plan I'm noticing a significant amount of improvement. I was very slow in bike and and run (I don't follow his swim plan cause i join the masters program locally) awhen the I started the program. Before I was averaging 11:30min/mile now I'm averaging at 9:45min/mile. In the bike I could only muster 24kph on my average and now I'm averaging 26.5kph in my 3hrs ride. I had some doubts when I first started but the key was just being patient and that probably applies during the race as well. I'm excited to start the speedwork and looking forward to what it can do to me!!! Hope is all great with your training!!!

So glad tmrw is a rest day. I need it! How are you guys feeling about your training? Are you feeling better than expected, right on target or a little behind?  I got sick for a few days so I'm a little behind, but very content with some of my numbers and the past 2 weeks of training. We only have a little over 2 weeks for daylight savings time folks!Cool

Doing Fink's plan and feel pretty good about it so far, mainly because I am WAY ahead of last year when I was training for IM#1 @ CDA.

Training is going well for me right now.  I seem to have hit an "ahhh" point.  The point where things are really beginning to click and my fitness is improving.  I had a great run on Tuesday, an awesome bike & swim today.  No foot pain (fingers crossed!).  I've been eating better, too.

I like the slower build of Fink's plan; I'm really glad I chose that one this year, I think it was a wise choice with the injuries I have been dealing with.  So far, so good!

Can't wait to get outside on the bike more!

So far following Fink's plan and I haven't missed a day yet and only had to adjust for one workout so I'm feeling really good about that. On the other side I still feel kinda nervous that I'm not training hard enough because I'm feeling too good afterwards. I'm sure it will change soon as things really start to ramp up in week 11. So I just keep going hoping that I'm doing the right intensities.Stay on target.......... Stay on target............

I feel the same!!! It feels like it wasn't enough. But the craving translate to a better work out tomorrow and.the next. Do you feel any difference? Week 1-5 my legs were sore and now I didn't even realized I clicked in 11 last week!

It's hard to tell if I feel any difference, I guess I would say I do on the bike since I'm on the trainer 100% of the time now.  I haven't really had any downtime from last season and this season.  Though it wasn't as structured in November and December I still managed to stay consistent with running and swimming.  I look at it the same way as you where I feel good and excited about training the next day.  So day to day I feel good but when i look at July 22nd, I keep asking myself "Is what I'm doing today enough, or am I'm going to be posting in the beginning of July, asking what can I do to make up the time/training"  It's a never ending cycle I guess,  I just keep trusting the plan and take it one day at a time.
