SOMEDAY I will get there....for now Cat I shall ride in the snow in your honour OK??

I had a yucky sleepless day after working nights...my little brats....Umm I mean sweet children....were home making noise. I am about to go ride the drainer....that ought to make me feel better....though I would rather be riding with Cat!!

How are all things liquid everyone? I am down 1.5 litres.....will try and get another half a litre in this evening, but I guess I can't count my Corona huh?

I will ride with you in spirit... its been raining all week so I havent been out yet since the weekend... Im getting itchy for a ride too (does that sound wrong?)

Was contemplating a spin class tonight but it just doesnt appeal to me in ANY way! I want to ride my bicycle... I want to ride my bike... I want to ride my bicycle.... you get the idea...

My daughter at UVM loves them. I like them okay- they are a little to trippy for me.

I am doing okay on my fluids today between green tea, an afternoon latte and 4+ 6-8 oz glasses of water.  I read that all fluids count toward the recommended volume but if the fluid has diuretic properties, like coffee, then it only counts as half the volume consumed.  We can also count high fluid foods like melons and soups too.

Have a good night all. It's Biggest Loser time for me!

Only about 56 ounces....and that includes the 'perpetuem' diluted with water on my run.  If we're counting all liquids, including pepsi and wine, I'm doing much better!

Much needed rain is supposed to come in tonight, don't know if I'll get on my bike tomorrow if it does.  I've kinda decided that with my mary in 2.5 weeks, that the HIM and IM stuff needs to take a backseat.  Today was my last long run, according to my hubby/coach.  Joints are sore, muscles definately whimpering!  I'm really looking forward to this mary being a flat course, since much of my training has been in the hills.  Did I mention that I hate hills?!?

Given my condition today, skiing must have been harder work than I thought!  Huge side benefit of this training, though - I really didn't poop out on the mountain!

Any thoughts from my fellow mentor group buddies.

I have a 1 hour track workout or a long run (1 hour 30 minutes) scheduled for tomorrow. Which one should I do? It's really up to me I just have to decide. I'm leaning toward long run (in prep for HIM) but I find the track sessions help make me faster.

**In a 1 hour track session I'd probably cover 5 -6 miles where in a long run I'd cover 9+ miles.

I only drink water now and drink probably 80-100+ oz a day without even trying.

I'm off to run outside for first really warm day of the year near 50, shorts or tights? No jacket and lots of sunshine. I live near where lots of NE Patriot players live and going to go run into their nicer neighborhood and check out their houses.

I'm a big fan of downward facing dog as well as I have constant tight calves and often get adhesions...keeping them stretched out and happy makes me feel so much better.

After my run, I do a quick little yoga stretching routine based on the Spinnervals DVD called Flexible Warrior III, doing the sequence for runners.

Have a great day everyone!

Helen, I'll check out the video but I'm not sure my body will go that way. Doing pigeon pose I  can't get a big angle with my bottom leg and this looks similar.

I like your rug

I think I'm in pain just looking at that pose

i love downward facing dog.  I have been known to do that one while pumping gas...honestly.  After the preride on a HIM course last summer (I had never ridden that far before) I  stopped for gas on my way home and felt tight so while the gas was pumping I downward dogged it.  Probably looked silly but that is not a first, nor will it be a last

The only one I do is sunsalutations. I love them. I did them last night for 20 minutes. Felt like crap before hand, but went ahead with it, and felt awesome after.

I laugh when I think about posting a video of me doing it. Let's just say I do not really own proper yoga clothes.

Any thoughts from my fellow mentor group buddies.

Your workout yesterday looked awesome. If you feel good about it, I say go for the track work out.

1 vote for long run - i like just daydreaming a bit and watching everything around me. Too much concentration for track workouts.

Oh, I like downdog also...when I started, downdog was tough to hold but now it's kinda relaxing and I can really stretch my hammys nicely.

It was glorious outside...I was hot in light weight tights and light long sleeve wicking shirt..should have worn shorts and short sleeve top. After about 7 weeks of mostly indoor workouts the idea of running and biking outside is super sweet!

Tomorrow I should be able to get a ~30 mile bike ride in on my cross bike...bit slower as it has 34 tires instead of 23s but who cares.

If it was me I'd do the long run. Your HIM is in 2 months right?

Do you have another long run this week or speed/track workout? If you have one long additional I'd do track; if you have one type track/speed I'd do long. If this is either or and only one of the type this week, I'd consider how I felt..tired, peppy whatever to help decide. 2 months prior to A race is important time for speed workouts as it can make a difference.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I've been back and forth on long run vs track workout.

My plan does suggest that I play with race day nutrition on the long run if I go that route and it may be in my best interest to practice gatorade endurance and power bar gel (I haven't run with it before and my sports nutritionist has suggested it because I sweat more salt that the average person).

I also mentioned it to my coach and long run it is.

Next week I'll get an easy track workout in and I'm racing Saturday. First tri of the season. Time to test these legs out.
