MDHillSlug - 2009-05-12 11:13 AM Speaking of which, I was back at the pool this morning. My legs are still really sore, particularly my left calf, so I did some of the swimming with a pull buoy. Another 2000m towards goal.

I followed your example. Did easy 1500m at lunch hour. My legs are still too sore to jog or bike......maybe some biking tomorrow....

MDHillSlug - 2009-05-12 10:12 AM I'm a "late onset" morning person. Used to hate getting up early but now it's the only time I can count on getting my training in.

How did you switch over?  I HATE getting up early, but I want to start training in the morning.  How many weeks did it take you to adjust?

I hate getting up early also, but with the summer weather here it's sooo nice in the early a.m. to train. My first couple months when I started training last year (July/August) I ran and biked at night. I decided to try a morning ride in late August. Was tough to get up and going, but nice to be riding in 80's instead of 110 temps.  I got lazy again during the winter as it was no fun riding in the cold. In between now with a split of morning and evening sessions. Gonna have to get back to early mornings next month.  I don't know that I ever 'adjusted', just a matter of getting on the road.  I think the best part is knowing in the afternoon that the daily training is done and you can relax at home for the evening. Of course I used to go bed at 1am, now it's 9:30.

Yeah, I'll start to do more morning training to avoid the heat and humidity of the afternoon as we get into summer.  As far as sleep goes I used to got to bed no earlier than 2am in college.  Boy, did that change once I started working.  I used to come it at 8am, but found I could get more done when I came in earlier.  So I slowly progressed from coming in at 8 to coming in at 6.  I guess now when I train in the morning I don't wake up any earlier, I just go into work later so it's really not that big of a shock.  And yeah, I try to be in bed before 10

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH NEAL!!! Give him back!!!! Neal would never post with that many words.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch

If I want to be a little healthier, frosted mini wheats (preferably the brown sugar variety)

I have a hard time getting up in the morning.  My husband also likes to go to bed really late and it usually ends up keeping me awake.  I don't do well with less than 8 or 9 hours of sleep right now.  Something has to change, though, because it will start getting too hot to run at night.

Today's wide picture thread

Cereal discussion got me thinking about all the cereal we ate as kids.  Found a fun archive site and put a quick few together.  Can't say I ever heard of Mister Muscle, but it was an amusing one I had to stick in.
