Mother nature hates me. Every time I have personal obligations or absolutely need a day off that's the day it's picture perfect out. So of course today being Easter coupled with the fact that I really do need the day off regardless it'll be 70 and sunny today. If I had an open slate and rested legs it would be 34 and raining.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody,

I've haven't posted in a week or so.  Things have been a bit crazy for me lately.  I want to say that Linda is AMAZING.  I'm inspired by her commitment and determination, and the jacket you gave her was icing on the cake.  I've been teaching 8th graders for 12 years now and I know how students can steal a piece of your heart.  This is a very cool mentor group!

Jelly Beans--Root Beer

My week started out really well last week, as far as my training, but ended in a lot of blank days on my training log.  My daughter turned 21 at the end of the week and she invited me down to Bloomington (Indiana University) to help her celebrate.  How could I pass up that invitation?  I spent the end of my week driving (a lot), staying up WAY too late, and trying to keep up with the youngsters.  Friday night we went to listen to a great band, got to bed at 2am and had to be up at 5:30 to take her out to the lake for a rowing competition.  She wasn't racing Saturday morning, but still had to be there to cheer on the rest of the team.  It was a whirlwind end of the week and I had a great time with my baby girl, but my training suffered.  Pick up and move on, right?

Easter Plans:  Sleeping in, baking cherry and apple pies, bike ride, dinner at the in-laws.  No church and no egg hunting--I'm such a heathen.

Going to try to do a bike-focus this coming week.  I'm giving this saddle one more week and if it doesn't start to be more comfortable, I'm ditching it and getting a new one.  It's really difficult to be motivated to ride when you know it's going to hurt the ENTIRE time.

Still looking for a swim program/coach.  I've sent out at least 5 inquiries.

Have a great week everyone.

coconut is my favorite and cinnamon is a close second.

Ha!  I LOVE Jelly Bellys, and you have happened to mention the 3 flavors that I just won't eat.  Yuck.

Juicy pear is where it's at.

K, I'm going to sum up this post because I have work to do!

1) Good news, ran 3.7 miles this weekend, and felt AWESOME!  No knee pain, and Nadie saw a racoon, so all parties involved had fun.

2) Bad news, I ate so much this weekend that I want to vomit just thinking about it, but how can I resist a D'arcy's Pint horseshoe (Best. Food. Ever.) and monkey bread?  Lots of working out to do to get back to a good weight.

3) Bike fitting tomorrow and new saddle!  I'm excited at the idea of no pain on the bike.  I cut my ride short by a ton on Friday; it was supposed to be 2h15m and ended up just being 45m.

4) For Easter, we do still get baskets from my mom, and I hid just a few eggs for Ryan to find around our apartment.

5) Exams are stressful.

TTFN!

Hello MG!

Back from Spring break trip with kids, friends, and DH!  Can't believe I did soooo little!  I had great plans to train while camping.  Managed to get a nice beach run in on the first day and then the Coronas had a fight with my motivation and won! HA!  But I am back and tomorrow my motivation will once again rise again to champion over my tendancy towards binge drinking!

Linda you rock and so does this awesome MG!  You guys are SO supportive of one another! It inspires me!  Wow!

Jelly Belly.... coconut...smooth, and flaverful!  YUM!

Easter...I cooked the din for the fam and ate too much Ham!  Now I am feeling bloated, salty and stuffed. Does that make me the pig?

Thinking of doing a practice sprint this weekend...Napa...I have a friend that is doing the HIM on Saturday and I thought to cheer her on and then do the sprint on Sunday.  Is it possible to sign up on race day?  Works well into my training schedule!

Happy Easter "Peeps"! Wink

BEAUTIFUL sunrise service this morning (another Episcopalian checking in), HILARIOUS egg hunt (35 indoors, 49 out, 4 teenagers HIGHLY competative once they actually woke up!!),  good, short, fast run......and dinner at the in-laws.  Going to bed VERY early tonight.

Awesome call on the jacket......love this MG.

David, glad your Dad's doing better.  With Dino - lost my mom 18 months ago, such a hard time.

Marathon minus 6 and counting.   Think I'll check weather.com before I hit the hay....

You guys rock.  Linda, you deserve that jacket.  Enjoy.

jelly belly-- cinnamon.  The spicy cinnamon are even better.

Erica- thank for the encouragement to keep going back to check on the IMMoo volunteer slots.  It was a mess for days but this morning there were tons of slots available for practically everything.  I got female transition tent in the morning (7:30-11) and athlete catcher in the afternoon/early pm (3:30-8pm). Super excited!

Gosh, you could get me coming and finishing if I can get my act together this year!  Prepare yourself for the ultimate in chaos in the female changing tent..clothes flying everywhere, screaming/laughing/swearing/gasping and lots of naked flesh...

Hey Suzy - you just figured out how to get John to IMOO.  I'm sure if he could volunteer in the female changing tent, he'd sign up.

Happy Birthday Suzy and Kim!  I hope it's a good one.

Yeah, transition will be interesting but I want to see how the tent functions before I participate (hopefully).  I would love to be there for fellow MGers.

I think it's a wise idea.  If you're able, I think watching how athletes progress to the swim start is worthwhile.  It's crazy as 2800 people herd into the water.  The tension is high.  If you know what to expect , it will erase that a "little".
