what's Team Javelin?

They are a bike company. But basically I pay them 25 bucks *admin fee* they send me a tri suit and I get discounts at few places like their bikes umm fuel belt I believe will have to loot at it more have to go get the kids from school now

sounds like a pretty good deal

Hi Gang!

sooo, does marathon cooking count for anything?  I prepped somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 meals today - whew!

Now I am really hungry!!!

LOL

I'm not - cooking this much always has the opposite affect on me

I sent in my ap to team javelin, just to see what they had to say since I am not HIM or IM nor am I experienced......just curious.  I hear their trisuits are very comfortable, and I always want to look like I am a sponsored athlete.....so we shall see.

Quiet on here tonight......

I don't have HIM or IM on my application at all. I told them I was just starting out in tris gave them my running background said I wasn't a top AG'er so hopefully you will here something soon also. I am on a tri team with a uniform also so I will have to see how to wear both at sometime. But yes I hear their Sugoi suits are awesome

It's quiet again today!

So I skipped the workout this morning. I know, I know. But in my defense, I decided it'd be a really bad idea to swim again only 12 hours after last night's swim, what with my shoulder still not fully recovered. And it was really, really f-ing cold this morning -- too cold for biking, especially when my bed was so very warm.

The plan today is to try to squeeze in a run late tonight, but I've got dinner plans so we'll see if that works out. What about you guys?

Congrats to Shawn on Team Javelin!

I am hoping to get to the pool and get some distance in as I am on a swim team for this months challenge. After I hope to be able to spin for awhile as biking seems to be lacking the time compared to the other two sports!!

But yes it has been very quiet around here for awhile now. Still no Hector I hope everything is ok.

hey take care of the shoulder. too much may just overwhelm the joint and lead to injury. i agree about being f-ing cold in the morning(i have become a real weather wimp). train over the weekend and enjoy it.

Hector! The long-lost manatee son!!! Yeah, we know you've been crazy busy and major sick--so glad you checked in, though. Mwah!!!!!

You can make up for your absence by providing pics ... kidding (sort of).

Hi Erin and Will! Yeah, Erin ... you know how I am (but not how I do) ... always err on the side of caution with injuries and exertion.

That said, I'm doing that bike ride with the BTers Sat. morning AND the half mary on Sunday ...

Hi everyone, happy Friday!  I made it to the pool and actually had just gotten done with my swim when the daycare came to get me regarding Mr. Poopy pants....this pattern is getting old!  At least I was done this time, but that put the kibosh on my sauna plans!  Looks like my Oly plan starts next Wednesday, in order for it to fit best into my life (i.e. long ride on the weekend).  I will be doing a long run this weekend (not a half Mary by any means!) and if the sun pokes out, then a ride, hopefully.  At least on the mt bike if I can. I know I should get on my trainer.....it's just so much prettier outside.

Sorry to hear you've been so sick.

Did you by any chance make it to the TCSD meeting last night and hear Sam?

Nice to see you again, Hector! I hope you're feeling a lot better. It'd be great to start off the month in good health.

Thanks for the concern about my shoulder, guys. I'm definitely trying to find a good balance between not over-stressing the arm and still getting some decent swimming in. I have pretty much stopped using the hand paddles, have limited the time I spend on one-side breathing, and don't do any sort of swim work that focuses on strength -- those were all exercises that seemed to aggravate the shoulder pain. But last night I had a pretty long workout (well, the longest I've done in a month) and my shoulder feels fine today, so that's a good sign. It sucks that I can't keep working hard and improving my speed, because I was making some really good progress, but if I can just maintain my swim base I'll be happy.

Yanti: BT bike and half mary! You are a crazy lady, you know. Wonderful and awesome, but crazy.

I did it!!!!  I ran a 5K in....27:50!!!!!

My goal was sub-30, so I did it!!!

Also, I must brag for a moment.  My 3 year old is SO into my training this year and has been dying to race with me.  The 5K I did this morning had a 1 mile fun run, so I did that with him.  He was ridiculously excited.  He ran THE ENTIRE TIME!!  He finished in 11:35.  Not bad for a 3 year old!!  I honestly think it was the proudest that I've ever been. Mostly b/c he was so proud of himself.

A great training morning!!

Wow that is so Awesome you are FAST FAST FAST!!!! I know about the kids races. I did my first after a 10k that wasn't bad. The one after the Half Mary was brutal standing in the rain for 45 minutes till it started was brutal. I had cooled off and was all stiff. But the kids just loved it and took off. I had to tell them to slow down so I could keep up with them.

Laura! That is so awesome! You blew away that sub-30 goal! I am so thrilled for you.

And your son! That is really incredible. And what a really cool experience that you got to do his first race with him.

Your weekend is off to an amazing start!

Hi!

I just ran almost (not quite, darn it) 6 miles.....blister didn't re-activate, so I am relieved, and it was a really nice time. I can't believe I actually am enjoying these long runs!!

I also scored some awesome deals at the REI garage sale today, so I am super happy!

Hope you are all having a great Saturday!!

Thanks so much Yanti (and everyone else)!!  It felt really good to reach a goal after ALL that training.  The base building has been phenomenal for me in the run.  THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR CONVINCING ME TO WRALK!!!  I've been doing the 16 week sprint program, and I can't say enough about it!

Now I've got to change gears today and try to ride my bike again.  I bought a bike computer and some bike shorts, so those two things should help.  I'm supposed to ride for over an hour today, but I'm not sure I'll make it that long.  I'll just go as long as I can.  That's my goal.  I only have about 5 weeks left now, so I've got to get used to this bike quick!!

Hey everyone - quick posting to let  you know I won't be around today and not sure  when I will be back on line

I'm flying to PA today and my new job starts tomorrow.  I'm not sure what my access will be like and whether or not I'll get a laptop. I've asked for one, so I'm hopeful that I'll be back on line tomorrow sometime.

Have a great day!

No I didn't even think of it, between Navy work, private business, and night school, i feel like a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. My workouts have suffered due to being sick and lack of time, but I still try to do something every day.
