ebshot - 2012-07-16 8:17 PM I am suffering from lack of motivation.  I just don't feel like doing anything.  Blah.

On the positive side, I am down two pounds this week.  Sweet!  Also, two of the three kids are at their first overnight camp.  I dropped them off yesterday and they both were excited and didn't want me to stick around.  I think that is a good sign.

Cole is off at school so I should take advantage of having no one home and take a nap go out for a run.  Riding tomorrow.

If I were you and I had a moment of peace to myself, I wouldn't want to do anything either!

Or is it one of those things were you really don't want to do anything, anything including not napping or relaxing either? 'Cause that's a different, kinda dark place.

Erica, take advantage of the time alone any way you see fit. You've earned it!

Warning, new avatar! No more kitty pic, now we've got a legit triathlete photo! (I made the guy next to me in transition take it, confessing that I am a nerd - after the race was over, of course, not during!)

YOU'RE NOT A BLACK AND WHITE CAT?!

Lookin' fantastic, Brie!

And you're learning ... make piglets do things for you at races.

YOu know it! There were quite a few cute little piglets at the race and I kept thinking, I should get a photo with him, Yanti (and some other boy crazy manatees...looking at you, Jo) would truly appreciate!

cdban66 - 2012-07-16 6:56 AM Head's up. I changed my profile pic again, if you care. My wife got a good shot of me coming into T2 this weekend, so I have to use it I hope everyone has an outstanding week!

Very nice! Thanks for the heads up. I had to hit F5 to see it.

We're quiet today. All waiting for Adrienne to fill us in.

I went out running late last night -- I was hoping to be out 2.5 to 3 hours, which would have put me home between midnight and 12:30, but I took a tumble at mile 8. I hate that. I actually skidded across the sidewalk -- road (sidewalk??) rash on my right knee and chin (of all places!) Amazingly, I skinned only the first one or two layers of skin off the palms of my hands and my elbows, so while they are a bit bruised and very tender (and sensitive to heat I discovered this evening while cooking dinner), they are fine. It could have been worse. I got home, looked in the mirror, and my nose was completely covered in dirt/grime. It must have "hit" the sidewalk, but only enough to get coated with road dirt, not enough to scrape.

I've been lectured all day by my family for being out that late (including my 11 year old). I told them all what I was doing before I went out and my route, and my husband sent me off with a nice hug and a quick "Your a$$ looks great," so I didn't realize they were so against it.

I ended up being out for just under two hours, so I did get to practice some nutrition (which was one of the goals). I was on pace to cover 15-16 miles in three hours, and would have easily completed the minimum 12 I was going for (I was going to stay out for the final few only if my nutrition was working and I was still feeling good), until the tumble.

It's funny how when you first hit the pavement the thought is, "Please don't let anything be broken or sprained." I was kind of stunned for a few seconds and couldn't move at all, but obviously, I managed to get up and walk for a couple minutes, before I was able to run again.

It made for interesting conversation at Sunday School this morning with my 3-5 year olds. They were fascinated by my wounds. Laughing

I hope everyone else had a good weekend. We are actually seeing the "light at the end of the tunnel" with the RV renovation project. Then my husband announced tonight that he wants to add a solar panel. Oh dear. The only other down side is that the "living room" sub floor (which we replaced yesterday) in the RV started squeaking tonight. We were scheduled to put the flooring on it tomorrow, so now I don't know what he wants to do.

Heal quickly. Do u take a cell phone with u on these late night runs? If not, you may want to consider bringing one. It won't stop anything from happening, but will allow you to call for help and may make your family feel a bit more comfortable.

Yes, I do take my cell phone, and I stay in town, so I'm never more than about 15 minutes away from home. When he saw me, he said, "Why didn't you call me? I would have come to get you." I thought, "Please. When I call you to come get me it will be because I really need help!" I don't want to be "crying wolf." lol

Well, hubby just came in and told me to get my butt outside for a run! lol His argument went something like this . . . "The sun is out! You might actually see where you are going. And it's nice out." He's right. It's 76 degrees. Where did that temperature come from??

So, I'm going out for a short 3-4 miles. Yippee.

I was waiting for official results but that may take an eternity. I finished with a time of3:23 (might be 3:22) no watch, no headphones, no hr monitor. A 10+ min PR. I finished in the top 10 women (6?5? Maybe) and I think I won my AG group. Sorry for all the half information. The really great news is that I will be able to register early for Boston (they now have a rolling registration process) the RR can fill you in oneverything else whenever I get to it. Lots to share.

WOW, 10+min PR! Awesome!! All those miles paid off, greta job!!! Can't wait to see the race report.  Glad you made it to the light at the end of the tunnel and didn't follow that other light...

And if you are running Boston, then I will definitely be on the sidelines to cheer you on!!

Who is a runner stud? SALTY!!!!! You go girl, 10 minute PR is AWESOME!!!! Great job on the BQ.

The real question is if they had to lube everyone up to get through the tunnel?

And congrats on the PR -- 10+ minutes is amazing.

Apparently I'm getting old.  I feel hungover today.  Last night, I had about 2 beers (7.5% ABV) and less than an ounce of whiskey.  I don't know why I feel so awful!  Hoping I feel better before race tonight.  Drinking coffee now, then I'll move to water and gatorade.  Hoping that helps.

Kate: I LOVE your frog pics, they are so adorable!

Allen: I LOVE your editing of the captions of Kate's frog pics, you are so funny!

Brie: super job with your tri and scoring a piglet to take your pic, nice new profile pic!  For some reason I can't get to your RR.

Chris: congrats on a new PR and the great looking action shot/profile pic!

Salty: wow, girl!!  Sooper dooper job on the PR and BQ, way to rock it!!

Jen: I notice I handle my alcohol differently now that I am either older or don't drink nearly as much as I used to.  Sorry to hear you feel yucky!

Felicia: ouchie, sorry to hear of your tumble. Glad it wasn't worse.  Heal quickly!

Had a fun weekend holding a grad party for my niece Sat. and doing a modified 'Quinto Day' (golf, biking, geocaching, kayaking, beer) with my friends Sun.  Sadly rain kept me from doing my bike ride Sat. and kept kayaking off the board for Quinto.  Have no fear, we added in the 'martini drinking while waiting for storms to pass' pasttime to still have a 5th event!

Below is a rock-stacking sculpture someone had made with river rocks and presumably found 'river trash' goggles.

I put my bike helmet on it to complete the look!  There was another one that reminded me of the Vancouver Olympics Inukshuk.

Inukshuk

 Pretty rock stack

I will be leaving for Lake Placid on Wednesday to spend a glorious week doing tri-training and cheering friends on during the Ironman!!  I plan to take my old, decrepid laptop along and hope to post some pics and log my training.  I'm so excited!  I love running the trails there and swimming in clean, clear, gorgeous Mirror Lake.  This WILL be the year I do a full lap (just one, not the race requirement of 2) of the swim course.  I'm not sure if I am taking both fat and skinny tired bikes, but at least skinny is going along.  This will be my first year (of 4?) that I took a skinny-tired bike, can't wait!
