Longest. Hour. Ever

I need it to go quick - I haven't started Christmas shopping yet. Was planning on knocking it all out this afternoon. That and a mani.

Did you ever decide what to get your future baby-daddy?

Yeah, got him tickets to the Cirque du Sole show that's coming to town next month. I'm actually nervous he might get me the same thing... which would be hilariously embarrassing...

That would be fun-neh Leave yours in the car and accept his gift first. If it is the same thing say "crap...I left your gift at home" then buy him something else.

Nah! Open the gifts at the same time.  That would be even better.

Funny yes but I fail to see why it would be embarrassing.  It would be kind of cute and it shows you are both in tune with the other.

I actually think him and my parents got each other gift cards to the same restaurant... is that awkward or funny?

A little embarrassing that we can't think of any other gifts for each other... both too picky!
And then we'd have 2x the tickets we need and would have to find someone to give/sell them to.

I thought they were supposed to match.

Then again I don't date guys with pockedt squares.

Well OK, I don't date guys at all, my husband would frown on it and since he makes me dinner it would be a bad idea to make him angry.

It's a Cirque show!  Go twice!  One night he buys the drinks and such the other night you do.

And for the jokes, yes he wears a pocket square.

I don't wear one, but I heard they should not match.

A quick search on Google and it says:

"First of all, there is one BIG BASIC style no-no: your tie and pocket square should never have the same color and exact pattern – ever."

Many reasons: make it easier to spend more money, because even some salesmen don't know anything about style, and because men are simple creatures and a bundle pack save us from using the little neurons we have on getting dressed, freeing them up to concentrate on making our women happy.

Identical typically not. Matching - yes. They should be complimentary. As should socks unless they are plain.

wow, you guys have some rules too.

Black and brown seem to be back in style and they are just not matchable or mixable IMO.

It's a bit like a white silk scarf with a tux.  You have to be able to make it look good... but there are definitely rules when it comes to suits (incl ties, pockets, socks, belts, watches, collars and more)

All my presents are wrapped and under the tree which is shockingly early for me.  It wasn't much of day to be outside so what better than wrapping presents and drinking cocoa in my pj's?
