Hiya Yanti.  I'm dreaming of my Balinese vacation some day.  I remember more stories of Cake Boy.  He seemed to have a metaphysical attraction.  Engineer boy was probably just a little too firmly attached to earth for much soaring.  There are some desirable traits that are mutually exclusive.

TW

Icarus ...

Yes. Cake Boy was my Mercury, and indeed mercurial. I've still never met anyone who could take on my thoughts and senses like that. It STILL creeps me out, in an almost-yummy skin-tingling way.

I think I do enough soaring for two, so I'm good with someone grounded. Everybody's gotta be young and stupid once, or in my case, a few hundred times.

Maybe Engineer Boy can help you build a reliable, safe set of wings.

TW

Go with Daedelus instead  he made it back to earth safely though at great loss.

Good Evening Your Royal Hotness Yanti Doll, Treadmill Crusher, Taxi's Bane and Goddess of Apodyopsis!

How are you feeling today?  {{{Healing Melon Presses}}}

Ooooh you got me with another one I had to look up, although I was fairly close on guessing from the roots.

ALL HAIL THE HALLOWED HIGH PRIESTESS OF THE HEALING YET LEFT-HOOK YORKIE-HURLING HONEY HYPNOMELONS!

Still awfully stuffy but slowly better.

Honestly, I'm in shock. Just got the news that a good friend passed away, of malaria. Really hard to wrap my head around this one. Young guy, my age. I adored him. One of the guys who really helped me with that horribly difficult (to put it mildly) transition to Indonesia.

Sounds like a nice evening regardless.

But that is the right question

Geezerette #3 met a guy, dated him briefly, decided he was not the "one", had the talk that she wanted to be just friends, he took it hard. Then, she had some problems, he came to the rescue, and they are friends now.  My guess is that this guy is pretty good.  The problem, if there is one, is that the guy is geeky.  He is geeky by my standards which puts him in 3 sigma territory.  Geezerette #3 is too.  She is, after all, the daughter who formulated the Geeky Gene Theory.  (I've told that one many times before.) However, she has not come to embrace her geeky side.  Anyway, he is finishing his PhD this semester, she is finishing her post doc appointment soon, and both will be in a different places in a few months if they don't do something. My input on the matter is not welcome.  It is one of those situations in which forward and reverse psychology parenting strategies have the same wrong-way effect.  I got nothing but a good seat at the show.

TW

I was trying to decide between (of all people) Cake Boy and a most wonderful geek--country-lovin', marathon-runnin', engineerin'-solvin' geek. Both redheads.

My co-worker (having met both of these fine young lads who brought various gifts of flora and food to my workplace) said: "Always go with the geek. He'll love you forever."

Sigh. Well, he and I are still friends ...

JWKMH always tells the Geezerettes, "The geeky ones make the best daddies."  I go whhaa-whhaat?

However, there's actually a winery that grows and bottles right here in Bali, and their product is not shabby at all. Hatten Wines.

Your company's performance has been considered excellent on the airframe.  I hope you are not impacted by someone else's quality control.

I think we will learn that software reliability is at the root of the battery problem.  I used to do software reliability for nuclear safety systems.  What I learned is that it is very hard to make completely sure that automatic systems will work under all future conditions.

jclarke450 - 2013-02-07 8:59 AM Just spent the last 15 minutes yelling at my boss.  Almost done shaking after being so irritated.  Wonderful start to the day.    Yay Thursday

That's usually not great for your career.  But sounds like you aren't exactly pleased with that place to begin with.

And sometimes it is great for your career.  Sometimes it pulls the Boss/owner/manager/etc's head out of his/her @$$ if you know what I mean.  Sometimes they need to understand how it really is going.

I am generally happy with my job, we are experiencing tremendous growth and they put me in the position I am in specifically to turn multiple things around.  I have been successful at it and when I see people hindering that change and long term success I voice my opinion.  Doesn't always make people happy, but they know they will get honesty from me which has served me well in my career.  My boss knows that I don't get upset unless it is legitimate and therefore listens when I do.  I have found throughout my career that what most executives lack is people being honest with them, so when they do get that they generally appreciate it.

And my little explosion has already created a positive change, so it was worth getting all spun up over I guess.  I had tried calmly discussing it for the last 2 weeks and nothing changed.  1 good screaming session with facts included and BAM we get desired result.  Shame it has to happen that way.

If you listen closely, you can hear him inside your head.

The trip to Bali, the Dreamliner leaves tomorrow.  No wait, they are grounded.

Hey Yanti, can you have wine in Bali?

Ouch, sore subject! Good news, for my company, they haven't stopped production.

I'm down for a COJ trip to Bali!

I WANNA GO!

Me too!!!  (And can I bring Tony too?  Please?  I promise he won't take up too much room...

That kinda goes without saying, no?

We have the sex now, yes?  Yes!

And dessert, can we have dessert too?  And YES!
