Dino!!  So glad to hear from you.  I get that same crazy cough after a race or long run in cold weather.  It is the devil to get rid of it.  Fingers crossed you don't slip from 5th place this season.  Those results are terrific!

Jill--yeah!!!  Sprints are usually full of a lot of first timers so I'm not surprised the swim was chaotic with lots of doggy paddlers.  So happy you enjoyed yourself.

It's been crazy cold in Minocqua this weekend.  Saw a few flurries, but there is nothing on the ground which makes me happy.  Heading home this morning.

Hopefully it's picking up again! With most of you heading into the off season, who's planning to race a marathon or half? Anyone tried Trainer Road for indoor bike training? Or The Sufferfest videos, they're my favourite.

I've got the Noosa Tri this Sunday, just checked the forecast: 31 celcius and 25km/hr winds....

I'm starting at around 7:40am so it's going to be hot by the time I get to the run. Peter Sagan, the TdF sprinter is coming for the crit the day before and Greg and Laura Bennett are racing. Should be fun!

I am hoping to give Jorge's program a go starting in mid November. It is in the beginner triathlete free plans under cycling.

On Sunday morning I did the Houston half marathon relay with my sister. They ended up postponing the start by an hour because a fairly nasty thunderstorm was rolling through. It was still raining lightly when the gun went off at 8am and it continued to rain for the duration of the race. There were about 4000 people doing the half and about 150 teams doing the relay. I will guess that at least 25% of the people bailed out because of the weather. My sister did the first half in 1:05 and I did the second half in 49:45. I was hoping to go a little faster, but the soggy shoes and the concrete roads took a little out of my legs. On the plus side, there were only 7 teams in the 50+ masters mixed group and we ended up taking first.

I love Dino.  So cryptic.

I'm heading to Vegas in November to do a half marathon with TEAM BAMF! I'll let you all figure out who is on that kick a$$ team! Lots of estrogen.   Think I'll be kicking off Boston training shortly thereafter.  Woo-Hoo.  Will get a chance to meet Linda  (Terps) for the first time and see Julia again (think double).

I moved my bike downstairs a couple of weeks ago.  No Sufferfest videos for me though.  Started HIITS testing  today.  Think Tabata and you have it about right.

Nice job last weekend, Jill - nice first tri!!!!  Way to go Dan - sounds like brutal conditions - and first is AMAZING!!

Dino - have no clue what the acronym was, but the cough worries me.  Get it checked out AGAIN.

Go, David!!!  Noosa would be so much fun........

I may just be racing on team BAMF.

You have the worst luck with weather!  Great job on the win and really  impressive negative split!

Noosa tri coming up, I'm racing for Cerebral Palsy and so far have raised nearly $1600 which I'm very pleased about. People have been very generous and I haven't really needed to be too pushy.

I'm picking up my race suit on Friday and I think it's going to be a "beauty" based on this picture I found on the Cerebral Palsy League website:

It's not uncommon after a "not so good" weekend of racing for me to pick up the training pace and start looking for some additional external motivation either via video or print  ......  & found this gem of a article that really captures the essence of Cross!  Just had to share.

Cross Article

The best line in the article, "Where else can you suffer to the verge of puking your guts out yet still have an ear-to-ear grin on your mug?"  So true, everybody is always smiling.

Beautiful but hot morning here in Noosa, temp 32 celcius for the run so lots of action for the medical tent!
The swim was slow due to the tide turning but I managed a new PB, 2:37:55!
