2PM try to ride the course.  I'd say it's a bad idea. 

I rode the course at 6 AM a few weeks ago and it was a bad idea.  I never realized how much of the course runs on one way streets in the opposite direction into oncoming traffic.  A lot of blind turns and not very nice roads on the shoulders of the road.  Makes for some really scary times.  I consider my self to have excellent bike handling skills as I can toss my 700LB harley davidson around just as well as my TRI bike.  I had a few "close" calls out there a few weeks ago. 

Not to mention there are barricades in all over the park that make some of the roads not easy to access.  You have to get off your bike, etc... 

IMO it's much better to try it early AM.  2PM in the city is not a good idea. 

All great advice... Yes, headed down from NY Saturday morning... was hoping just to ride the loop once to get familiar with the turns at least once. Not looking to ride fast at all, just simply see the course... Maybe I will push my time back some based off your recommendations. Thanks!

I saw that this morning.  I would not be to alarmed.  We have today and over night for it to clear.  I think the big problem is the water temp right now however a lot of trees down and stuff in the water is probably not helping.  Water flow was much faster eary this morning.  It's slowed quite a bit.  I'd check it tonight and see what it says. 

This race turns into a Duathlon...I'm going to pound a few beers before I do it....I'll easy my pain.

Don't know for sure but heading to packet pickup at 10:30-11:00 AM.  I heard from a reliable source that wet suits are pretty much a no go.  However I noticed water temp is now 81-82 which does allow for people to put the "life jacket" on if they don't care about awards.

I'm trying really hard to understand how the water went from 86 yesterday to 81 today.  I know there's been a lot of flow but it was 1200 cfs yesterday at this time now its 700 cfs.  

Looks like someone with a computer science degree may be getting paid some overtime...?!

Sorry to hear about that.  Unfortunately, sometimes things like this happen.  Lets hope everyone is safe tomorrow and everyone can complete the distance with or without the wetsuits.
