Pretty interesting... are those more efficient? Its still undecided I think.... They never reallytook off apart from with a few riders... first time I really noticed them was when I think Bobby Julich was using it... It's individual preference. The theory behind them is that they provide you more power at the 'dead spot' in your pedal stroke. They've been around since the 80's, and now the most popular kind are called Q-rings, made by Rotor. Cat's right, it's not been PROVEN that they're more efficient by themselves, because it's a combination of the rider and the rings. If you put them on a dyno with a mechanical test rig, they'd be exactly the same efficiency as a round ring. |

Im SURE the ones that use it have reasons for doing to... Either... power readings/Avspeed etc etc OR... its a gut feel thing... it depends on the rider... As rick said its about eliminating the dead spot in the pedal stroke... Has anyone tried one? |

It's officially unofficial I guess. Lol - tee hee! WHAT THE??? Is it wrong to hope Bertie pulls a Jens faceplant? Umm its evil... Okay, nevermind. Lance is really thrashing. Will it hurt him on the Ventoux? I guess he's got an easy stage tomorrow. On the ellipticals, Cat's baby boy, Haussler used one too when he won. |

I have a game I play where I ask people if they could slap one celebrity across the face as hard as they wanted, who would it be. For me, it has long been Bob Costas. I would slap the vocabulary out of that little midget. AC is quickly climbing on the list... Who for you? Man Wiggo is blowing-away everyone. 29 sec on LA??? |
