Veteran 189 Okiehoma | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---FULL (of sexiness) Saturday is a rest day, but a long bike planned on Sunday. Which at this point for me is only an hour an half. Plan says to throw some hills in. The weather looks like it might be amiable to an outdoor ride, thank the gods, because thinking about an hour and half on the stationary makes me cringe. |

Extreme Veteran 591 Miami, FL | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---FULL (of sexiness) Hey Sexy peeps! I took a yoga class on Monday (which left me very sore for 3 days), went for a short run on Thu and just finished up a 4.5 mile run/walk. Tomorrow is a rest day but I think I may do an easy bike ride (I haven't ridden the bike in months). I don't plan to do any swimming until after my half mary on 2/17. This coming week's plan is:
Keep up the great work guys!!! |

T.I.T.S.(time in the saddle). In layman's terms, the only way to get over the sore butt is to keep riding until your butt gets used to it. Unfortunately, there's no easy way around it. New user 8 | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---OPEN for a few more peeps! Hello! If you still have room, I'd love to join; however, I'm not sure if I will fit the mold. I am very overweight and would like to get off the couch and be much more active, improve my health--and to be thinner! I have done a few walks over the years and really love that, but I just don't do it as often and I'd like. My goal for this year is to start off the winter/spring is to walk a few short walks, in the summer, participate in walk/runs and biking and my big goal is to be nearly ready to do a sprint by the end of the year. My first activity is a heart walk on February 8th. It is only two miles, but it will get me doing something. Personal info: I am a married mom and teacher. Let me know if I can join! Thanks! |

Is this something that you want to do on a daily basis? Train and exercise with the specific goal participating in triathlon? If so, hop on board! If this is more of wanting to walk a few times a week to lose weight, then perhaps not. |

Champion 5312 Calgary | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---OPEN for a few more peeps! Bill, My Name is Darren, Would love to join your group. 30 year old, living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Married, no children, no pets. January 2007 I was 250 lbs (6 feet tall). I started running, joined Karate, now I am 225 (almost). I did one 10K last year, time 1:05. Two half marathons, time 2:18 for both. And one Sprint triathlon, 1:40, I think, all I really remember about that is it took me 40 minutes to run 5K, painful. So, invested way to much money in a new bike, Cervelo p2 -sl, picked it up yesterday, put it on the trainer in my basement. Race schedule February 18 - 50K race April 13 - Spint Tri June 14 - Oly Tri June 21 - Half Iron September 13 - Iron (Grand Columbian) (shhhhhhh dont tell anyone, it is a secret) So currently, running twice during the week about 1.5 hours each time. One long run on Saturday, like 4 hours it is up to now, and maybe run on Sunday. I swim twice a week, still got the baggy shorts thing going, and Karate twice a week, thursday and Sunday. So I need to work in the biking. My goal is to finish the Half and lose some weight, my dream is the Iron (shhhh dont tell anyone). Anyways, Edited by BigDH 2008-01-21 4:32 PM |

Pro 3673 MAC-opolis | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---OPEN for a few more peeps! Welcome. First things first; in my opinion you should bag the half and the full. You should be on your second month of base training (8-12 hours per week) if you plan to do a half or full in as little as 6 months away. Patience Grasshopper! The races ain't going anywhere. Let's do a few sprints and OLY's before we go long. Again, just my opinion. Perhaps if training goes well and you feel real good about it, a late year half such as Miami Man in November. |

Champion 5312 Calgary | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---OPEN for a few more peeps! Awesome, I am in. First thing, how about doing laps in this pool. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_ar... I understand what you are saying Bill and I am not saying my plan is fool proof, just a plan, come hell or high water I am attempting the half if I do a little better than merely survive I figure I got 3 more months to get lean and mean for the full. I started the full iron training program this week, with my alterations to incorporate Karate and to continue training for my 50 K on February 18, fool hearty maybe but I take everything at a super low intensity if I am feeling tired or sore (which I am more often than not) so as not to risk injury. I know the races are not going anywhere but I have a feeling that life may get busy for me in the next year or two and if i want to get it done I got to get it done now. For tonight: 20 minute bike followed by an hour run. Talk to you tommorow. |

New user 8 | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---OPEN for a few more peeps! Hello again--yep, it is my goal to train every day (or almost everyday) with the the big goal of doing a triathlon sprint. I am not sure how long it will take me to do it, but I guesstimate that within the year, I would be ready to do a sprint. The reason I say that I'd be ready and not actually do it is because I live in Wisconsin and I don't see many sprints available for the end of the year. Of course this means I could travel to someplace warm at the end of the year!! We just had a foot of snow dumped on us last night and the thought of going somewhere warm is really appealing!! So, would you suggest that I start slow, but consistent? I have gotten on the stationary bike at school for about 10/15 minutes at a time--my rump is having trouble adjusting--you would think natural padding would be really comfortable, but no! I also have been on the elliptical each morning and will do that until the roads outside are better. Any suggestions? Thanks again for letting me in! |

New user 11 | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---OPEN for a few more peeps! Beachkat... I am outside of chicago and very similiar to yourself. I am doing a Sprint July 20th in Door County, Wis. You should join me. I am a 35 years old. I am about 5'5 and weight 230. I have been "training" at least 5 days week since the new year. I feel great. Tired sometimes from excercising but not tired from life in general. I haven't lost any weight yet, but my clothes fit better...I must be gaining muscle. I have 2 kids, 5 and 7. I work fulltime+ as a CPA and I teach at the community college. So, if I can figure out how to make this work so can you. Please join us as most in our group are a little more experienced. I am taking a tri-class at the health club. If you want I can forward you his work outs. Get a heart rate moniter. This thing is awesome. It's easy to figure out how hard you should be walking or peddleing with it. First you have to figure out your 80% thing but after that it's so easy. |

New user 8 | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---OPEN for a few more peeps! The Door County Tri was what actually got me interested in doing this! I thought I could really try to train for this, but wasn't sure if I'd be able to do it by July. I will work toward that as a goal and if I don't make it, I'll be there to cheer you on!! I love Door County. We used to camp out at Peninsula, but getting in there has become ridiculous. Thanks for the tip about the heart rate monitor. I'll have to pick one up soon!! |

Champion 5312 Calgary | Subject: RE: BIG SEXY's group---OPEN for a few more peeps! So rode the bike for 20 minutes followed by an hour run. Super slow run, mostly on account of the 2 inches of snow on the ground and the icy sidewalks. So that was my first ever "brick" if you could call it such. Body aches all over from the last 9 days without a break, think I may take a break today. I just love my new bike though and I need the practice in the aero position. Anyways, maybe a swim if I dont get any better offers for lunch. |
