Now I am behind in school; bad Melissa! I need to contemplate my priorities I guess. Tonight I need to read about 50 very dry pages of botany. There aren't even color pictures. Sounds like you and my husband could be friends...he was a horticulture major in college Very neat-did he stay in the field? He did landscape design for 5 years or so, but now he teaches environmental science to high school students. Hopefully they manage to get at least a little bit dirty in class. I have always liked the interactive classes best. I considered education, but one year I co-taught a really unique class and decided that I didn't want to commit to 9 months of teaching whatever comes your way. Not that I don't love kids, but sometimes you get a class that seems to have all the really challenging students in it. The whole class missed out on a ton because so much time was spent working with students who were struggling-and acting out because of it. Edited by mchally 2008-10-01 10:28 PM |

He does do some cool experiments and such with them, but they are freshmen so its kind of like kindergarten again as they figure out what high school is all about...He has an honors class of 8th graders that are his favorite kids, but his least favorite parents Of note he teaches in an inner city Chicago school so for many of his students there is not as much parental involvement as you would get in the Suburbs |

Champion 7931 Sequim, Washington | Subject: RE: Ghosts and Ghouls Team Thread Sounds like quite a few of us teach/have taught 'kids.' Very cool. Also very stressful. I worked in a Montessori kindergarten extension for kids that went to a public school half day kindergarten, thus most of the parents were really supportive-and the ones who weren't spent their time harassing the school district teachers. |

I think I remember it My lab doesn't even have a window I keep the blinds closed on both my windows Trust me, on days like this, I don't want to look outside and realize I've got 6-7 more hours of florescent lighting and beige walls. It would only depress me. |

Wow, we must work in the same building. I have a window into the hallway as well. So I get to look at the pretty beige walls in there as well. I've got to get a picture of that. I never realized how "office space" funny it is that I have a window into a hallway looking directly at a wall with nothing on it. |
