I'm supposed to be aiming for three runs this week but I decided to put off the first run of the week until tomorrow since this morning the temp was right on 20F. While I have run when it's that cold, it's supposed to warm up for tomorrow morning and the rest of the week so I'm pushing it back one morning. Swam instead.

Ended up with 6  and  was running confortably so I tacked on a hilly park loop for some bonus points . Was working really hard on the climbs ,  rest was conversational pace .

Temp 50F and overcast , little or no wind.

Hey, team!  I've finally gotten over my sickness and actually went for a run today.  Well, technically, I guess I just ran in place on the treadmill rather than "going for a run".  It felt good to do something active.  A week of sitting on the couch had me a bit stir-crazy!

Hey... you peeps with warm weather - I ran yesterday with temp at 7 and windchills 10 below zero! Crazy but love completing a run... and that hot shower after is heaven!

xmas list this year is short and sweet cuz cash is low on all fronts... some fleece running gear and smart wool sox would rock. If my dh hits the lotto, then a new bike! a tri bike! now THAT would be a WOW Santa present

Brrr...you're stronger-willed than I am.  Snow and rain I can handle.  Temps in the teens are okay.  But sub-zero windchills make me head for the treadmill!

Tuesday is reverse brick for me .   Park at the pool  Run 20+ mins  with swim 40mins right after .  On  Tuesdays  the  pool is not busy and  i usually will have lane 7 to myself for a few minutes  . Lane 2 and 7 have flags above the water so its easy to swim on your back and stay straight.  Being there is no roof i cant use that as a guide.

I am trying to find the groove with the backstroke , its a new  stroke for me.   I am  enjoying the  challenge and it is keeping my swim sessions interesting.

Good morning team,

Tonight I want to do a one hour toning class at the Y and afterwards a running session on the treadmill.... Haven't made up my mind yet, if it's going to be short and fast or long and slow... Probably long and slow, because it will be my last long run before the 5K on Saturday... I am planning on running Thursday, but it will be short, because of appointments and X-mas dinners etc.

Have a great day everybody.... And if you need something to smile about....

Is skipped yesterday's run because it was 20F; this morning it was 36. What a difference a day makes. Ran a fast (for me) 3.4 miles.

 Just a suggestion

If you want to help your 5K Saturday .  Start at 5Mph and  after a warm up , set the incline to 1%  do  1 mile at your goal Race pace .  Say  6mph .   Cool down with a mile at conversational pace .

You can take 2 min break between miles .

Dreadmill is great to dial in pace.  I use it for mini bricks.

Welcome back , Make sure to ease back  into your training.

The body is forcing me to ease back in to things.  I'm still fighting some gunk in the lungs and sinuses so I'm keeping the workouts light this week.  I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to get in the pool tomorrow.  It's driving me crazy to be so lazy!

He used to work here and now he is trying to start his business as dance entertainer.... 2-3 hours are 500 bucks in case somebody is interested... I should probably pitch him the idea of trying out for "You think you can dance".... I think the upstate is not a stage big enough for him anymore!

On a more personal note.... I think he is completely delusional.

You are NOT missing much in the TV news , its all gloom and doom .

Our CA fires are wind driven , so when the winds stop the fire crews can do their jobs

Unfortunately its getting windy again today .

Pretty funny , he has "talent"  for sure

Sounds like a perfect candidate for a reality show  like  "You think you can dance"...
