chartierm22 - 2009-01-06 5:11 PM How was everyones day today?

I'm with Beth. I've had better. I woke up feeling like a truck ran me over, had to skip my swim, painted for 7 hours, was too tired to swim and am now packing. But there is wine. Delicious, lovely wine

Wine toppage!

Hey all.  Night all!

Tomorrow will be better Beth!  Not a huge change in workload immediately.  I'm in acquisitions and there aren't many deals getting done these days!

Kris, 7 hours of painting???  How big is your apt???

Mornin Everybody!!!

Question,  I'm really struggly with the nutrition side of things.  I've lost a bunch of weight and would like to loose about 10lbs more but I think I am going about it wrong.  I think maybe I'm not getting enough calories and or maybe the right kind.  Can anyone point me in the right direction to some good reading material or any thoughts?  I'm headed to the library today (G has girl scouts and its held there) so I thought I could look for a few good books on nutrition.  More than loose the numbers on the scale though I'd like to trade the flab for muscle.

Hi Mel!

That's a good question - I'm definitely not the right person to ask, this is something I struggle with as well - and it's always that last 10 lbs :/

Morning Grits. I did a super short run - just to the gym and back - and a swim this morning so I'm slowly chipping away at the goals! I'm off to paint for the rest of the day. I will do a quick ab session later tonight.

Hope everyone's having a good day thus far

Check out "The Paleo Diet for Athletes". It's co-written with Joe Friel and specifically addresses the needs of endurance athletes. It's the best "diet"/nutrition book I've ever read. I've been following the eating plan for a little over a week now, and I have more energy and far fewer food cravings. Too soon to tell about weight loss, but I haven't gained and am actually eating more than before.

Great job getting the training in everyone!

I got a swim in this morning and have a run planned this evening. Hopefully the 50 mile wind gusts will be gone by then.

Maybe it would be fun to get the mountain bike out in the snow storm tonight :p

If you PM me your age and weight I can give you a very detailed plan.  I'm not an expert but I have read a lot and did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

That does sound good.  I'm hungry but I should be.  The last time I ate was my raw almond snack at 3:00.  At 5:00 I will eat a very small snack again and then commute home and get to the gym.  Then I will have a nice recovery meal instead of hammering food until I can't move.  At least thats the plan!

That was poorly planned sentence.  The point is I'm following my eat every 3 hour plan.  My metabolism starts flying so quickly only a few days into it.  I'm always nice and hungry when it's time to eat again but it's a good hungry.
