leapdog - 2009-01-26 4:38 PM This isn't the 'brag about my warm winter destination thread'. Quit hijacking.
goalie - 2009-01-26 4:01 PM It turns out that I have to go to San Diego for a week in early March for the SIR conference (Radiology annual scientific thingy...). I'll have a bay-view room at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, and it should be 70-something during the day. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.......

My house is 70-something.  It is my after-work warm winter destination.

That's positive thinking, Sal!

I will say one positive thing.  The sun is setting after 5 these days, which is AWESOME.

!!! You beat me!  I was just going to complain that I was really sweaty on my run this morning and how gross it was.  A little too sunny, too.

I suppose this thread will continue on into summer, cuz that's what we do in MN (whine), right?

Ooh, look!  The ice is melting in the gutters.  Can't say when I saw that happen last...

Well, I'll complain.  All of this melitng snow has nowhere to go.  It's just sitting on top of the snow, waiting to freeze.  I can see already that the horses' pasture is going to be a soild sheet of ice tomorrow.  Horses do not do well on ice.  Not good at all.  Hrrumph.

But where it isn't flooding from the melting, it sure is nice to see grass!

The sad part, it's giving me spring fever but I know that we still have a good 6-8 weeks where we can get snow and cold!

But I'm not ready for mud season yet!  The watery slush was almost to the top of my fugly rubber barn boots this morning.  Horses are sloshing around making a real mess of it.  If only this was really spring...  But we all know it's not.

Shhhhhh, don't talk.

I'd rather it were 10 degrees and snowing than this rain/slush in 30 mph winds carp. It sucks out there!

I'm bored. I will complain about the iciness on the trails from melting and run-off.    I went for a run on a messed up path yesterday.  Although I am happy to say it was sunny (yay) and my feet stayed dry...

I am now very ready to whine about the weather! I think that February to April is the LONGEST part of winter because we don't know what we're going to get. Yeah, I expect some snow, but not the snow storm we're suppose to get today! AUGH! This is the point of winter where I wish I lived somewhere else.

I do my long run on Fridays... for the last couple of weeks, paths and walks were melted clear on Thursday...only to be covered on Friday. I would really like a long run where I'm not doing the dance of the winter running for an hour and a half.

I'm happy about the weather today.  Why you ask?  Well, I'm going to leave work early and I think I might bail on Masters   I just cannot take the grueling commute!!!!!  And if I'm home, there's no way I'll go back out at 6:45.  Yippeee.

Thundersnow here right now.  WTF?  School was canceled today; of course, I was already at the gym.  I went in school with intentions to get a bit of work done.  Didn't.  Made it home in time to take the truck to town and get a load of stall bedding before the blizzard started.  I'm so sick of this shizz.  Really.  This would have been a great storm for them to be dead wrong about.  But no.  They got it spot on.  At least it's moving pretty quickly and we'll be able to get it blown out before tomorrow.  And it's warm enough the tractor should start.  Please, tractor, please start.

I don't mind the weather.  I do mind the traffic and the commute that took NINE times as long as it normally does.

I work 30 miles from home.  I became mildly frustrated when it took me 2 1/2 hours to get home...AND I LEFT WORK AT 2PM!

I left work at 1:00 and I am very, very glad.  It was still along commute (about an hour for 15 miles), but obviously not as bad as it could have been.  The plow hadn't been up my entrance ramp from 169 to 7 and I was worried I wouldn't make it.  That would have been annoying after making it nearly home.  My wipers were also so gummed up, it was like driving tank commander!  Oh the joys of MN.

It really wasn't that bad here.  I think we got 4", maybe.  Not enough to bother trying to crank the tractor.  Today though, the roads were so icy.  Skated all the way to town.  Whee.  Really, I'm kind of done with winter.  Let's move on.
