I just updated my blog got the week.

I blew out a tire this morning.

Other than "don't forget your cell phone."

Any suggestions for emergency roadside flat repair?

Fix a flat? Extra tube?

What is recommended?

Extra tube(s) and lots of practice...and your cellphone.

I can change a tire pretty good now in my driveway, but if I had to do it on the road, I could (I think...I hope...). Also, I carry CO2 cartridges to pump flats, although at least once I have pumped up my tire enough just to get it home so I could change it in the driveway.

Alright, I went out for my longest ride so far on the bike. According to google maps, it was right around 11.75 miles. I did it in 48:00 flat but there are some killer hills in my neighborhood, so the beginning and end were the hardest parts. Tomorrow, I'm hitting the pool.

Next week will not be good for me training wise as we are headed to Disney to see the big mouse. Once we get back, I'll have about 4-5 weeks of training left, so I'll have to be laser focused.

well my day was messed up by car trouble and whatknot... tomorrow I'm out of town.

As far as tips for a flat I'll ask my husband to get some ideas (he is a pro with his bike).

edit from Arnold, Miranda's husband: or flat repair, I just carry a spare tube, I'll patch it when I have time at home in front of the tv or something. A good recommendation is to also carry a basic patch kit, if you use your spare tube and blow another leak, you don't want to be stuck. CO2 are fine, but I prefer a manual pump, never run out of air. one more thing, if your tubes have presta stems, think about a schader adapter so you can fill the air at a gas station or something if you need to.

Well the last long run is in the books.  11 miles (shorter than I wanted), but 8:17 pace (faster than my race pace by 6 sec).  So I think I will be OK.  By the way, 132 laps on an indoor track gets pretty boring, but I got to catch the first 15 picks of the NFL draft in peace on my IPOD.

Nice job on the long run, indoor tracks get extremely boring in a hurry so way to gut it out!

So how about the rest of you? How is the weekend shaping up?

Thanks... I was wondering what was going on!

no work out for me today (unless you count holding a 7 month old baby for most of the afternoon).  I did get a new bike stroller from my parents today.  I'm going to use it this week with the boys!

We're staying at the Shades of Green resort. I don't really know much about it. My wife has been planning it all as it's with her family. Should be a great time though, I can't wait to see the 3 year taking it all in.

I hear you on the nutrition. One day I will keep up with mine, but today is not the day.  Maybe when my miles increase in my HIM training at the end of summer so I know what my body likes/dislikes.

The kids and I went out today with the new bike stroller.  My oldest biked and the youngest hitched a ride while I pushed the stroller.  We did 2.2kms.  Mostly walking but some good jogging in there.  I'm truely just learning to 'run'.  for my give it a tri I only have to run 2.5km.  Hopefully by August I will be able to do it!

It does get easier the more you do it - if you are using the one on BT, it tracks your favorite/most often used foods and you can also save certain meals. For example, I eat the same thing for breakfast most mornings, so I have that saved as a meal that just requires one click to enter.

It's a pain in the behind, but it's really worth doing if you want to lose weight or know what's going on with your diet.

Okay here we go with our first group challenge!!!

For this week, come up with one thing that you are truly struggling with. It can be hitting all your workouts, individual workouts that you struggle to get in, nutrition, whatever. Find one thing and make that your focus.

For me I am for sure going with nutrition. I will try to start logging it again. I NEED to start shedding some extras before race season kicks in and them hills start eating me up.

So what will everyone else focus on this week??

Now the second part of this is that we have to hold each other accountable and motivate each other to push towards are ultimate goals taking this first little step.

One week at a time, one day at a time and we can achieve!!!

Well, this is tough, as I am 12 days away from the longest run of my short running life, but I will make my goal to get outside on my bike and do an hour on the road.  I am not a fan of the trainer and have therefore neglected my biking over the winter.

I have a crevase rescue course this weekend so i will not be training on thurs fri sat and sun. What i really should get done this week is getting my training plan for the season together. I still have to pay for some races before they sell out. I need to book some time off work to get to one race.

I tried to log my meals, but... to be honest I have no idea on how to calculate exactly my carbs/protein intake and everything else...!!! :-s

Should I read all the labels on the packages and weigh everything?...

I think I will try my food as well.  I write it all on spark people and it gives me most of the info I need for here.  here's hoping I can do it!
