Really, it's because I didn't get enough exercise in today. Was totally nervous about my bike commute. Only five miles, but in the dark with t-storms predicted. Yikes! Took it super slow, turned my knuckles white from gripping too hard (note to self: GET GLOVES!!), made it in about 20 minutes. Not too shabby, given the pucker factor and hills. Found out the shower at work is deeeeeLUX! Ver' nice.
So I was super starving when I got to work, but it is Tuesday, which means it is actually semi-sorta-kinda busy. So I grabbed a 100-cal pack to tide me until I could cook. The new Nabisco Sweet & Salty Kettle flavor. Decent, but I'm not sure it'll become a staple.
Then, I got to cook up my jasmine rice and my Punjab eggplant. Yum! It is always spicier than I remember, but the jasmine rice helps smooth it out. I added 1 tbsp of margarine to boost the fat a bit. Unfortunately, though, I only have 400 cals left for the day and the other half of my dinner is 450, plus my 100 cal bedtime shake. Hmmm...MORE PUSHUPS!!!
Wanted very much to throw in an extra workout, but my knees have been killing me, so I'm taking it easy. Really wanted to OWS, but I don't swim alone and I couldn't be guaranteed of anyone remotely capable being around. Eh, oh well. Was this your first time commuting? I just moved so my commute has gone from 2 miles to 6. I'm thinking about switching my commuter bike from my hybrid to my unused roadie. Sounds like a good weekend project. |
