Im bad with some stuff... Im pretty good with injuries and serious illness...

Although it tends to become a longer hiatus than it should when Im derailed for significant lengths of time!

If I recall, you recovered quite well, and got back in the game quickly after the wrist/hand injury on the bike.
And the injury after spraining your ankle in the water seemed to have gone pretty good.

Seems you're pretty good with the injuries... unfortunately, the illnesses do you more harm
But you are SUPERCat... and for a good reason

Hi all. I'm Don. I haven't done a challenge since last year. I think there are a few familiar names here. I was injured for a bit early this year so I couldn't run very much, but now I seem to be healthy and I've been able to get back to where I was before the injuries. I'm thinking my goal will be to do about 10% more than I ran this month, so I'll wait until the month is over to finalize. I'm not really training for a specific race, but just to improve overall.

You have the right strategy... accept most of it is 'jibber jabber' and just jump right in

max - 2009-09-29 6:35 PM Welcome to everyone.....one more day to slack off and then we're off and running (or in my case, trudging along)!!  Laughing

I didn't slack here.   Decided to get ready for the challenge with the longest run I've done in over a year.  Felt great.  Pace was not as fast as I'd like, but steady.

I'm ready to wander/trudge/sprint along!

Sounds to me you might be the person who flies/glides and enjoys!

At 5:30 in the morning?!?!?!!  I'd be lucky just to stay upright...  You go man!!!

Thanks!!! --- but if I don't get up and do it at 5:30 am it usually doesn't happen!!!!!  Except maybe on Saturday, when I allow myself to wait until about 7

It IS a contact sport!  haven't you been pummeled in an open water swim?  Knocked down on the bike at some point or smacked into on the run?  I need to find a non contact event!!

We were just assigned a new team member, sdbyrant (Sarah); she, roni_runnw, and I were in the same mentor group last year. It seems like old times!

I've got an up-to-date team roster, but of course it is subject to additions for a few days. If you want to use it, it's attached as a text file. You can see what it looks like on my log page.

Hi Crypts!  I'm Sarah...and I'm a seriously undertrained IMAZer.  Which is why I'm here -- I really need to get my run on this month.  My goal is 26 hours for the month.  If I need to put that into sessions or miles, let me know.  My plan is based on time, and since I seem to go between a 10:30 pace and a 12:30 pace for no reason at all, distance is hard to predict...
Anyway, looking forward to a month of motivating and motivation in here!

I finally looked at my run schedule for Oct.  My goal is going to be 100+ miles.  If I hit every run, this will need to be increased before we are finished.

Hi Sarah,

You can state/log your goal as hours, no problem. I'm so impressed that you're doing an IM! It's like I've watched you grow up ;-)

Welcome to October. Since it's so quiet here I hope that means you are all out running!

Myself, it was another morning of PT and they added some new exercises for my PT enjoyment ;-) The fun never stops!
