I put in 7 miles on the treadmill today. Then when I logged it in the spreadsheet I realized that my marathon training plan is in miles and I put my goal for the month in kilometers (which is how I usually track distances). This might get confusing, but I can be easily confused!

Our spreadsheet, BTW, is looking BEEEAUTIFUL! Good work, everyone. Let's get out there and put up some big numbers to scare the other teams at the end of Week One.

I'm due to head in to work tomorrow, and my weekend days where I work are usually my yellow square days, but this month I'm thinking of adding in some yoga on those days. Guess I'll see how that works tomorrow.
My epiphany for the day was that it is okay to sleep, and it doesn't make me lazy.

Just got home after being away for a few days... got in a trainer session and my situps/pushups. But now I have to get the kids to bed and unpack. Fun stuff!

Hey team, I'm Daniel and im popping my challenge cherry.  Got my goals posted and my first work out in the bag.  felt good yo get that out of the way.  I never thought a 20 min spin on rollers would be so hard but man it is intense.  I think I might watch some spinervals once i get comfortable on them.

A tip for rollers is also to locate them next to a wall that you can elbow or place a hand or if you get nervous, this helped me out a lot.

Hey team, looks like we are all off to a good start.  Went to the gym this evening and got an hour in on the bike.....I love doing sprint invervals, it really makes the time go by a lot faster.  Got the training log & spreadsheet filled out.

Question - What's your favorite spinnerval dvd?  I'm gonna order me a couple this week & would like your opinions.  Thanks!

Well, I'm sitting on couch, trying to get geared up for long run...

Eating oatmeal with blueberries (my fav pre run breakie)...

But the wind is howling outside, about freezing & looks wet! Very unappealing! The couch feels like a magnet keeping me here!!!!

Holly, you might want to try Jorge's Winter Maintenance Plan right here on BT.  I just finished week 1.  It is top-notch and free.  I'm using the HR/RPE plan.  I wish I had the money for a Powertap though; I think there would be even bigger advantages to be gained by using power.

Anyways, check it out.  Here's the link:

Would you like me to put a conversion factor in the spreadsheet for you?  This way you can enter miles and have it logged as kilometers.  Just let me know.

Did a little clean up on the spreadsheet this morning.  Now, you can see total percentages for each goal and total team completion percentage.  I'll add formulas back in when the few remaining people add their goals.

Good morning team - well, there are only a few minutes left in morning.

Finally warming up after a 15k run in terrible conditions. Can't complain too much because this is the first really crappy weather run we've had all winter.  But I bet I looked pretty frost as we did about 3-4 k right into the wind with the snow blowing right in my face. I think i had those frosty lashes and eyebrows.

I earned my starbucks today.

AND keep well on my goals. I have a 30 minute swim which should be easy to get in later today - the pool will just be busy. Ugh, January.

Thanks for all the spreadsheet fanciness! I would love to automatically track miles into kilometers, but can I still track in kilometers too? All my outdoor routes are calculated in kms (because I'm very metric) but my treadmill distances are calculated in miles. I hope to be doing a bit of both this month!

Keep it up, teamies! Let's see some big numbers for the end of the weekend.

Darn.  Been sitting here waiting for the fog to clear.  No such luck.  Read about enough incidents with bikes and cars that happen on perfectly clear days that I'm not going to push my luck in the fog.  So, off to the gym to swim, then probably a drainer-trainer ride.  Need to do a 30 minute threshold test, but think I'll pass on that.  Maybe a 1.5-2 hour zone 2-3 ride instead.

Good afternoon team! I'm stuck here at work for another five hours, and I got crap for sleep last night. Working with dogs (and the cleaning up after them) should count, shouldn't it? I'm already tired. Good thing its a planned rest day! It is cold and windy and nasty outside, and I'm hoping it doesn't hold on for tomorrow, when I'm supposed to run.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I guess I'm not going to be able to get outside to run today... it's cold, WINDY and snowing still. My roads are the last to get plowed.. So, I'm down here in my freezing basement trying to get to motivation to get on the treadmill. Man, my hips and hamstrings hate that beast!! Hopefully, I'll at least be able to get iTunes to work on this ancient computer. I love snow for the holidays, but now that they are over I just want to cold and snow to GO AWAY!!

Enough complaining... off to run...

Hi Team

I just did 41 miles on the bike . riding around the county .  My ride had a couple of hills  and an out and back leg  to  Pismo beach sand dunes by the pacific ocean .  The Scenery is stunning , roads almost empty of cars  & trucks , weather blissful @ 50F warming up to 65F in the last hour of the ride .The wind picked up as the ride went on and the return trip home was very slow .
