Hey team - got a run (walk) and a core workout in last night.  My formulas aren't working on the spreadsheet...does anyone know how to fix that??

Also, I have a question.  I headed out for my run yesterday and did a 3-5 minute warm up walk as usual.  When I went to run, my left leg was killing me! On the inside, just above the ankle bone.  About 6 inch area that hurts and is tender to the touch as well.  I hurt bad enough that I couln't run, I had to walk.  Any ideas on what this may be?  I have an 18 and  20 mile run left, then I taper for my marathon in March.  Help

Is pain on the shin bone or the muscle surrounding?  Have you been having shin splints at all previously?

No real pain anywhere near the ankles or shins until yesterday.  The pain seems to be at the "edge" of the lower shin bone, where the muscle starts...on the inside of the leg...a few inches up from the knoby part of the ankle.  (anotomy and physiology is not my strong point).

Well if the pain isn't coming from the bone then you probably tweeked something.  However I am no expert by any means.  It is hard to know exactly what the problem is because where pain shows up and where the problem originates are not always the same.  If you were feeling pain on the bone so bad that you had to stop your run I would say go get looked at incase you are developing a stress fracture.

I would take a few days off running, do some self massage (or maybe go see an RMT if that is an option) and then go for an easy run and see how everything is feeling.

Thanks!  I iced it last night and plan on taking today off for sure and most likely tomorrow.  If it still hurts on Thur., I'll probably go have it looked at.  If it's a stress fracture...it'll kill me.  I have worked so hard for this marathon!

I just took a look and everything looks OK. Remember that only you Love goal counts toward the team total and is counted in the last column.

kcarroll - 2010-02-02 5:31 PM Ok, Kisses.  Just to warm us up for Valentine's Day.

First *real* kiss you can remember (you define):  Name (theirs), age (yours), location (geography not anatomy, or *someone* is bound to get us in trouble)

David S.  14 (I think)  Back seat of his car - not terribly original but what do 14 year olds really know

Hugh D., 14...I think? I'm also a little shady on my age at the time, but I *think* that's right.

Party at Melissa G's house where we had punch made from a gallon jug of super cheap, hangover inducing at any amount - wine.  On the back porch.  What we didn't know was that a bunch of kids at the party had decided to cram into the upstairs bathroom since it was the only window available to watch us from without being too obvious.  The "oooooohhhhh"s and laughter, however, made it obvious. And the "OW!"s as kids tripped out of the tub trying to flee the scene.  :D

Got a short drainer ride in yesterday which puts me at a good place for my Love this week... I might up that #1 goal, not quite sure yet.

Tonight will be my PT exercises and maybe Zumba or some elliptical.  Tomorrow I meet with my PT and I get to negotiate when I can start run-walking again post-surgery.  Hopefully I've made some progress.

Hey team, new member checking in.  I'm a brand new runner getting ready for a half marathon in April, so mainly run focused right now.  I needed the half as a goal to keep me running through the New England winter - my wife still can't believe her weather wimpy husband is bundling up and heading out for 10 mile runs on the weekend regardless of the wind chill!  The neighbors are getting a kick out of me strolling by as they fire up their snow blowers.

Signing up for a 70.3 will do that to you!

Hey team! Taking a break from studying for my strategic marketing test tomorrow. Got a 1 mile run in today, not much but it was all I could squeeze into my schedule.

As for our little "kisses poll"... First kiss was to my current bf James We were 16. He had come over for dinner and and he gave me a kiss good night before he left to go back home.

Gotta luv when a free fix comes into play!

And the new jersey fits really good . I am 6Ft 4  and big so trying bike jerseys is usually and exercise in futility.

Added a swim session tonight to make today a reverse Tri-day  .

Sitting at 20% of main target after day 3, no running scheduled for today so took a break - but bought a new pair of runners to be ready for the rest of the month.  Got to love 20% off.

First kiss was a public one around 13 with Natasha C - floor of a blue light disco (one the cops put on over here to keep the young people active).  Older woman taking advantage of me for all 9 days of that relationship.

No wonder after leaving my home town for boarding school at 15 I never really went back...

Wait.... what?  You had an older lady taking advantage of you for over a week straight and you 'never really went back'?  Other guys in your situation might be composing a letter:

"Dear Penthouse, you wouldn't believe what happened to me last week...Cool
