Hey guys! Its been a slow week of recovery since the HIM. Haha. Took a full rest from tri sports yesterday. I'll eventually head to the gym to get a spin in (left my bike at home and its raining anyways) and swim.

Tired. *YAWN*

I have a bike/run brick planned for today.  I'm already tired thinking about it!

yogachic - 2010-08-06 5:26 PM I'm contemplating doing an open water swim race in September because I haven't been motivated at ALL to get into the water since my race!  The thing is, it's a 2.5k or a 5k, wetsuit or no wetsuit... Most people do the 5k no wetsuit, but that might be too hardcore for me!  So I don't know whether I should aim for the full thing, or do the short course?  Or maybe go the distance but wear my wetsuit?  Ahhh, decisions!!
5K is quite the swim! (I'd do 2.5k )

That's what I was thinking, but I feel like I will be convinced to do the 5k by my irl tri club friends!

I think I'll see how this week's swim sessions go before I register.

Long run this morning.  I was considering biking from where my marathon group meets to run, to the beach where my tri club meets to swim, then going for a swim after my run.  But it's a 5 mile ride, and I was tired after doing the 10-mile run (plus the 4.5-mile bike commute I did to get to the run in the first place), so I ended up skipping the swim in favor of going to brunch with my marathon group.  Plus they probably have good reason to hold the swim FIRST for tris.... After all that running and biking, jumping in the lake sounds a bit dangerous Surprised

I got my brick done!!!  It went very well!  I timed my nutrition perfectly and felt like I could have kept on running!  What more could you ask for?

Got in a run and a lift today.  Still slacking, though.

Tomorrow is another lift and either a run or bike.

Got my long run in on Saturday, and also a little bit of bike commuting this weekend... But not much.  I just can't get back in the swing of things since my HIM!  I think my head's out of it now that I'm done with my A-race!

I was planning on a bike/run Saturday but I'm working on a project with my son before he heads off to school next week so all I got in was a short run. I'll get in the basics over the next week or so until he heads out. I'll have to catch up on the long runs/rides after he's gone.

pdbman - 2010-08-05 10:44 AM I got my ride in last night. I was feeling guilty for being anti social though. I somewhere to be so I didn't have a lot of time. I go out the door and my neighbor is outside and wanted to talk. It was a choice between talking or riding and riding won out. I hope he didn't think I was being rude.
Not sure what is on the schedule for today. We're catering a wedding and I'm not sure if I will be able to squeeze something in. The plan calls for some strength training but I won't have time to stop at the gym. I guess I'll be switching things up a little this week.

I've been feeling guilty for being antisocial, too!  Especially since I have to do my marathon training runs at 6:30am on Saturdays, I always feel a bit antisocial going home early on Fridays or missing events because they start too late.  It seems like the friends I see the most are the ones I work out with!

yep this is me! My "non tri" friends are getting to the point where they don't even bother asking me to go out with them or they will say things like "Kim wont go out she has to train"  I wish they would see I LIKE to train...sore muscles are much better than a sore head!

I've been slacking pretty good.  Should change this weekend.  I don't think I'll hit my cross train goal (P90X) - but should hit the other 3 pretty good.  It got hot here again - and just for kicks, I'm going to run in it tonight.

Ok, so I've been continuing to slack off since I've been going to a bunch of send-off and birthday parties.  But there's an end in sight, since all my friends who are moving away are leaving this week Frown  Now I just have to get through a slew of birthday parties/dinners!

Today is a break from the parties/dinners/brunches/happy hours, so I can actually do a  *real* training run!  Of course, leaves out of one of my favorite bars in the city Wink

Birthday and going away parties for you - weddings for me... It's hard to eat smart at weddings.

It's also hard to eat smart when they have post-run beer and pizza at my group runs Laughing

Amazingly, I haven't had to go to a wedding in years!  Most of my friends are either still single, or decided to do the small, family thing of just getting married at city hall with no big ceremony.
