It's hard for me to post on the weekends with the kids and all...  but I have them cleaning up their mess right now so I might have all of 30 seconds.

I got a short trainer ride in today, which unfortunatley doesn't count for the challenge...  but I am running tomorrow which will count!

Have a great Saturday night Ghoulie Crushers!

Hello fellow Ghoulie CRUSHERS!  As you can see from my most original of screen names, my name is Bill.  I just capped off my third season of tris with the Syracuse IM 70.3.  I was a challenge junkie for about a year straight, but have been out of the challenges for a few months.  Need to get moving on my off-season training program...  I've gained 6 lbs. since I crossed the finish line in Syracuse, so at this rate, I'll weigh about 350 by New Years! Embarassed

Biking and running is my focus this month.  I played racquetball at lunch today and will start knocking off the bike/run workouts on Monday.  The one issue I have is that my "pain cave" (basement) is out of commission.  We're awaiting new carpet, hopefully next Tuesday.  Until then, no treadmill or trainer for morning workouts.

Have a great weekend!

CONGRATS on Syracuse, Bill! Did you file a race report???

Me neither. Especially with you on our side!

You know you're my IM hero, right? 'Cause you did an IM on practically no training, thereby disproving that "you can't fake Ironman"?

Of course, maybe this shouldn't be emulated, but ... I can't help digging you for being one of the most serious cases of HTFU I've ever seen.

Oh, and you've always been so encouraging to me of my piddly efforts

msmogreen - 2010-10-03 3:28 AM I guess it's time for me to jump in. My name is Kathy and this is my second year of triathlon. Last year I was training with a group of women, most of whom aren't really that serious about training. This year I was on my own and got a late start because I just wasn't feeling the push. I did my first tri for the year in August, and my last two back to back in September. Last year I gained five pounds over the holidays...mostly just Thanksgiving...and it took me approximately six months to lose it. I don't want that to happen again, so I entered this challenge to keep me moving.

I am working on running and swimming. I need help on the bike, also, but I could only pick two and running is my weakness. I recently hooked up with a master's swim group so I have access to someone who can really help me with my swimming and is very eager to do so, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to take full advantage.

I'm really looking forward to blowing away the competition (for once, ha ha).

Hi Kathy!!! Welcome to our creepy little group. Well, okay, that's probably just me, but nevertheless.

Y'all ... I went OUTSIDE today. And SWAM.

(sound of Judi hitting the floor ...)

Sick o' bein' sick, friends were meeting at the beach as usual, so I just showed up. Man, that time in the water was the first my body's been pain-free for over a week. Gravity sucks!!! It's actually not feeling so bad now, so the effects have been lasting.

Of course, I had to nap for hours and it made my blistering headache much worse, but whatever. It just felt so good to be OUT.

Not that this counts towards the challenge, but ... y'know ... I'm getting better and that WILL.

I tend to get terrible headaches when I nap. Apparently it might have something to do with hydration, nutrition or inturruption of sleep cycles (waking up in deep sleep mode=headache).

I finished all of my scheduled workouts for the weekend! Three days into 4 min of plank a day and finished a 5km race today. Looks like I'm on my own for the planks because my best friend can't do them and my husband hates them.

I got my run in on Friday but my planned return to swimming didn't happen this weekend - it's been pouring rain on the Gold Coast and I know you get wet when you swim but I just couldn't face going outside for a swim so I hit the gym instead.

I WILL make it up though - I don't like to lose and we are definitely going to be the winning team

Got in a nice 11 mi run tonight. Focusing on running this month and already seeing improvement. A couple of consistent weeks since IMWI and slowly it is coming back. A long way to go to get back to a couple of years ago but this month and challenge is as good of starting point as any.

Sorry, Judi!!  Even though the run itself was not all the great, it was a great day to be outside.  The road I run on was very colorful and the sun was shining, but still cool.  It was a nice peaceful half hour to myself before heading out to take my daughter to a 4 year old's birthday party.
