I've tried it several times and just can't figure out what all they hype is about. However, my daughter picked out a YogaKids vidoe from the library that does the poses based on the alphabet. She asked me the other day to do it with her to which I gladly obliged. I must say, it was actually pretty fun. Granted we are doing poses based on what an alligator looks like but it got me thinking that I might be able to grow to like this stuff Can you share the video info? I just might have to look for that next week! THANKS Sure thing...it's YogaKids 2 ABC's for ages 3-6 I hope you're able to find it |

It's just not my thing. But my kids were always playing with the exercise ball that I sometimes use for crunches so my mom got the kids this Yoga video because it came with their own ball. Talk about FRUITCAKES! I can't even look at the woman in this video without laughing the whole time. It makes it hard to do the poses with my kids... But at least we are having fun exercising together, right? That's one of the things I like about this one...it shows the kids doing it! They will show the lady (Marsha Wenig) but not that often so it's actually pretty cute to see the kids doing these poses. |

I know how pathetic that sounds but really... Does it help (and earn me some points back) if I add that I now live in a friggen cold rainforest?! No sympathy for the "cold" weather in Hawaii. Sorry. And a rainforest doesn't necessarily sound cold either. To me it says "rain" which might be cool but unless there's snow its not cold. Are you on the Seattle side of WA or Spokane side? The Spokane side definitely gets cold. Wow, you're a tough one to please Yeah, rainforest does say rain and it definitely does that here but we do get snow as well. As a matter of fact, we had a white Turkey Day! I'm on the Seattle side, up in the Bellingham area ~ right on the Canadian border. |

Can anyone recommend a good video for newbs? As a yoga enthusiast, I would recommend that you go to some yoga classes and learn the poses properly. Nothing will help you more than an attentive instructor. Try several types of classes and instructors to find one that fits your personality. They are all different. As for a video...check out the Yogamazing or Sage Yoga Training podcasts. They are free and totally fantastic! If you have any other yoga questions, just let me know. |

We have a friend that lives in Marysville and we are always going down there to the commissary at the naval support base. Back in 200-2001 I was stationed at Ft Lewis so we lived in the Tacoma area and really liked it. As for settling in...its taken me a while. I'm just now starting to feel like this is home which is unusual for me as I normally settle right in. I guess that's what I get for going from tropical to crazy weather |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: December "Don't be a Fruitcake" Challenge! Hm. I'm reconsidering. Maybe I DO want to be a Fruitcake. At least, in the Bahamas..... In the Bahamas, not only is the fruitcake drenched with rum, but the ingredients are as well. All of the candied fruit, walnuts, and raisins are placed in an enclosed container and are soaked with the darkest variety of rum, anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months in advance. The cake ingredients are mixed, and once the cake has finished baking, rum is poured onto it while it is still hot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fruitcake Edited by D001 2010-12-04 12:14 AM |

I got in a couple runs the last two days and am getting ready to go out for 6 miles today. I'll update the spreadsheet when I get back. I need to get busy on the rest of my goals now too. Oh, and I do consider myself a bit of a yogi, and I agree with Tracy to go to some classes and try some different styles and instructors because each one is very different. My personal favorite is Vinyasa yoga. Have a great weekend everyone! |

Yeah, I have to overachieve the first couple of weeks to make up for what will happen the last couple of weeks! Exactly. I know I won't be working out much at the end of the month. I'm trying to decide if I can get outside for a wog. The weather's been icky. Eh, if I don't get outside, I can always punish myself by getting on the treadmill. I hate that thing. |

I'm really hoping hubby gets back from hockey before dark so I can go run outside in the COLD instead of the dreadmill in the basement in front of the tv... Actually, maybe even if he gets back in the dark I can run just on my street and look at the lights that are already up. |
