I'd love to get the band back together, but the lines have been drawn and some friendly competition is in order this time Wink

Just got in an easy 3 miles at the park.

The East team is looking good!  I just got my 6ish mile run done!  The month is 13% gone!  How do my teammates stack up?

Morning all,

No further exercise since the last posting, but that was planned as Friday mornings are for my wife's exercise time.  I get tonight after the kids are in bed.  Think I'm at around 5% so far, no worries yet as I'm only on light duties for another week yet before I can start to ramp it up.

Morning East and West siders!

Well, my immune system has finally given out on me at the worst possible time and I am at home sick halfway through my first box of tissues and only 3 hours into the day...

Terrible terrible timing for my fight on saturday but I figure its just 3 x 2 min rounds so I really hope I can kick this by then and last it out! Added to that its impacting on the last 10 days of training for the 24h tri next weekend but I figure I can call it a taper....

Anyway, enough of my pity party. Its a beautiful day here on the GC so I think I should get myself out and about for a walk at least in the sun. Hope everyone is having a great day/evening!

Hope your doing better Rach and it's not affecting your breathing.  2 minutes is an entirety when trying to fight and not being able to get any oxygen in due to be clogged up.

I had an old trick you might want to use, after the ref checks your mouthguard is in, run your hand past your mouth and transfer it over to your hand (enclosed in your fist) so you can breath through your mouth easier.  Make sure you keep your defence up so you don't get a kick in the mouth though if you go this route.

Morning all,

Very excited here this morning, as well as getting some training in this morning, listening to the radio on the way to work this morning find out they are announcing a new Ironman in my own City (Asia Pacific Championships - Melbourne March 2012).  And to make it even better, it's being run right near my house (5kms to the start and transition area, run and bike legs go 300 metres either side of my house).

Really hoping I can do this one (3000 entries it appears, so hopefully won't sell out too quick), behave you achilles!!  Bike course is going to be awesome (shutting down a whole freeway for it).

I have been watching this news very carefully in the last few days (big buzz over at slowtwitch.com) AND I AM SO EXCITED TOOOOOOO! I just started a thread about it in Tri Talk. I am absolutely in Mister Joe and you can bet I will be sitting at my computer on August 28! Yay for us, you especially!

Imagine how excited you'll be when they announce the first annual international Ghoulie Crusher's Get together as well

Just curious, is anyone racing during this challenge? I'm doing the Warrior Dash and a sprint Triathlon this month.

I have a sprint coming up this month...  Actually I just got an email today that gently reminded us it was in 20 days.  Eeek!

Looks like we are doing the same race! Crystal Lake, one of my favorite venues! Maybe I'll see you there

Awesome!  I'll be the chick that looks like she's bursting out of her wetsuit...  Embarassed

Well, I was a big slacker last night and went to bed at 8pm with the kids instead of running.  I felt all achy and SO tired...  I'll make up for it tomorrow.  I promise!

Another jog in today.  It sure was hot, but I was running in the park around the lake so it was very pretty and had some shade.
