I have a friend, a tri buddy from Austin, who said that she's interested in shacking up with all of us!  I know she'll stay Friday night but I'm not sure about Saturday- probably not on Saturday.  Her name is Ryan.
Thanks- Colleen

How old is Ryan? Is she in our AG? Is she fast?....oh wait, that wasn't what we were talking about.

Laurie/Derek: my loyal, hard-core fan club won't be able to make it. Yeah, bummer. One of them has to work Friday, the other one has an important event on Saturday. So that means I'm not bringing my own, um, athletic support. It will just be me, Friday only, hope that works.

I'm afraid to go back and check all y'all's RR's and find out who if anyone shares my odd penchant for actually SLEEPING the night before a big race. "ISO SF triathlete roommate for 1 night, chalk line down the middle of the room okay, lights out by 9pm preferred, if you snore loudly must be willing to give me a 10-minute headstart to nevernever land."

No need to worry Celeste. We all like to sleep before races.

Start list is up...did I miss Brandt's name?  I should've registered Athena, dammit!  Only one other one!

Thanks for the heads-up.  I should be on the list and I'm not.  I emailed Nick tonight.

Its not too late to change. I've gone athena--AG before.
I emailed Nick (race director) yesterday because he has me in the wrong AG. He replied today. I suggest you do the same.

OK, I put in my request.  I almost didn't do it, but then I'd be a hypocrite to everyone I've told to register Athena or Clyde and not be ashamed about it.   I don't see myself losing 6.5 pounds in the next 2 weeks.

Its not a big deal at all. You are what you are (right now).

A little story:

I registered athena for an Oly as Athena because there weren't many girls registered. I gained about 4lbs to race as an Athena. I was pumped, so excited. I was going to place, kick everyone's butt. I wanted first, first was mine. My coach was a little mad at the time. Oh well, I wanted first dammit! Race day, I'm feeling pretty good. Have an Ok swim, an ok bike, a pretty good run. I got smoked by at least 10 minutes. I never even saw the girl.

FYI: Athenas can move too and are just as good as everyone else.

I'll be there then!  Are there any rules or guidelines that I need to be made aware of?

Bring beer. Big sunglasses. CAMERA. Have a good time.

So what you're saying is that I have to shack up with an ex-ranger Creole chef, who will be drinking lots of beer, and comes from a background of "don't ask, don't tell"???  Then I have to somehow wake up the next morning and race?? Sounds like fun!!  Celeste...NO BURRITO for Bill!

I'm in for Friday night, but of course, the sofa or the floor is sounding pretty good right now!

heh....

Hey, look what I found!

It doesn't look that bad to me. There's about 300 ft of climbing in the first 5 miles and then it's pretty much downhill from there until you get to mile 18, where you climb another 300 ft from 18 to 22.

Nice profile, huh?!
