copa2251 - 2013-05-08 3:55 AM One of my friends had a vasectomy and afterwards he was watching TV when he started to feel a pulsing feeling between his legs, soon his scrotum was the size of a melon and his wife had to get their new neighbors to come over and help lift him in to the car because he couldn't climb up into the 4WD! He got to emergency and waddled along to the nurse like John Wayne after a hard day in the saddle and then spent 24 hours in hospital with 2 drains coming out of his sac!
I'm sure you'll be fine....!

Ugh!  What a way to enjoy my morning coffee!

Time for him to Man up!!  Even Jeff would tell you that it was way easier than he thought it would be, easier than having a baby (or 3!) and well worth it when all was said and done.  He really had only one day with ice and sympathy - went out a dug a new mailbox post 48  hours post op.  Of course, he is an Ironman.  Wink

Hey, Sam!  How was that LAX tryout?  For you or Drew?  I did LAX in college and loved it, nowadays, I just use the LAX ball for mashing out crunchiness in my muscles.

It seems like Jayne has flown the coop, so how about talking racing this weekend.  Anyone up for a fast finish?  Spill!

And for those of us not racing, let's talk about how you carry your crap on the bike!  Your fuel?  your tools?  etc.  Pictures welcome!  And yes, this is a little self serving.....

Ok, I'll go

I'm running my 2nd race in my 50K Dances With Dirt series in Gnaw Bone, IN.  It's a hilly course, and honestly I'm a LOT intimidated.  No time goal, just finish.  I'll be working all day Friday, then driving 4 hours to a campground near the race, picking up my packet and then crawling into my tent for the night.  Going to be alone at this race, so I'll be counting on the volunteers even more than usually for encouragement and support.  And, I'll be thinking about all of you too. Since I'll be camping, I really need to think through my pre-race & post-race needs and make a packing list.  Don't want to forget anything vital.

Hey all,

No racing for me good luck to those racing. As far as bike goes just a basic Scott 30 speedster nothing to fancy. I did put Zipps on it for the past race and it made it look fast. No upgrades yet. As far as storing Gels and such I just put them in my little pouch nothing fancy.

Hey, Sam!  How was that LAX tryout?  For you or Drew?  I did LAX in college and loved it, nowadays, I just use the LAX ball for mashing out crunchiness in my muscles.

Tryouts went well - it was for Drew.  They basically took everyone b/c the numbers were good and the skills were all comparable.  Should be fun and interesting.  My son has some skills but lacks a little motivation which drives ME crazy.  I bite my tongue a lot and tell myself he is only 9 and needs to find his own passions.  But still watching him half-assed jog around through drills makes me do lots of inner eye rolling.  But enough griping - better for me to do it here and not around the kids. I may come back to you for some pointers for my daughter.  She is giving it a go this year.

Good luck Jayne - that looks like a beast but you are a running machine.  Take one hill at a time.  And tell yourself - hey at least this is just a 50k.  ;-)

Other than an aero bottle and bento box, I don't have anything special on the bike.  I have trouble being coordinated enough to now wreck while eating and drinking.  I still have to stop for refills.  I've tried bottle handups and almost taken out myself, other bikers and volunteers.  not pretty.

How did I miss this? at least we asked similar questions!

Pretty sure most of you have seen my new purchase,  but if not here it is.  With the integrating cabling, I cannot use a normal bento box that wraps around the head tube which is why I asked the question.  Pretty sure I'm going with this since it only wraps around the top tube!

I'd like to rejoin the group. I see your stuck in staging area limbo but I found you anyway.

I ride a Cervelo S2. I use for both my triathlons and my biking events. I'd like to get a tribike some day.

I am doing the Sendai International Half Marathon on Sunday along with about 8000 other participants.  I will be happy with a 1:45 which is what I did last year in this race.   My plan is to do minute kms for the first 10km and then decide if I have the legs left to crank it up a little.

My bike is a 2009 Bianchi Nirone with clip on aerobars, a SRAM S-60 front wheel and a PowerTap on the rear wheel - it gets the job done, but I am planning to buy a tri bike towards the end of this year or early next year.   For HIM distance, I use a bento box and two bottles (seat tube and down tube) for nutrition and my tubes, etc. go in a saddle pack under the seat.

Wow Jayne....you got this one, the good news is that you get to go down those hills too. Dont worry you are not alone we are there in spirit....every time the wind blows feel the energy   hopefully the wind is blowing up the hills... every little boost of energy is going to  help.  I wish I had known you were racing so far I would have come out and given a foot massage at every aid station
