Is the party at BMae's just for the 1/2er's, or are Sprinters welcome?  :  )

btw, just when I was feeling cocky about my possible race time on
Saturday, I learn that Sarah Reinertsen is in my age group for the
race, and 4 spots down on the bike rack from me. Perhaps you remember
hearing about her? She is the first female above-knee amputee to
become an Ironman – oh, and she's really freaking fast. How fast?
You might say many people have trouble finishing an Ironman in 17 hours; Sarah did it
in 15. With one leg.

I mean, really…I simply have to bite the bullet this week cut one of my
legs off…two are just so CUMBERsome! Think of how much faster I could
go…

(Kidding...I'm truly inspired by Sarah!)

So - a change in my plans has me missing the Saturday morning wake-up call that is the group ride, but I'll probably be seeing you all at the part at B.Mae's.

Can you believe the race is actually upon us?!?!

No early ride for me, but I'll see ya'll at BMae's (if I can figure out where exactly that is by re-reading this thread).

Wow, I can't believe Sarah R. is racing near one of our own BT'ers.  That's so neat!

I really admire her determination, zeal for the sport, and indomnitable spirit.

I think you scared them away w/ the early start. Maybe now is a good time to tell them you are treating everyone who rides to the pancake b'fast Wink

Might be in.  Have to see how everything is going with the family by then.  If I'm not at BMaes at 7am (red helmet/black Soloist), don't wait.

i definitely will not be out of bed for a ride by 7am!  I only get up that early when i'm meeting Mark for the Harriman ride.

is Bmaes off of the Sprint course?  looks like from the map that BMaes is right on it. might want to check that as there is a race then.

Well then you'll have me to thank when we storm up those little NH hills Smile

The Sprint starts at 7:30 am. So w/ our early start we should be ahead of them. The roads are open to the public so we s/b o.k and it's not like we've got a peleton. Finally, w/ Jorge leading the way no one w/b able to catch us anyway Wink

edited to add: Sent KJ an e-mail. let you know if I hear back.

B Mae's is right at the traffic lights, a short way from the turn around on the 1/2 marathon course.  If you happen to spot Sarah Reinertsen racking her bike in the transition area, bring her to the BT party as well.  We already have Jessi Stensland as a BT-er...might as well have a few more famous triathlete's on the roster!

My plan is to tentatively show up around 2 PM, go to registration (I'm assuming that's at Gunstock, but I'll check the bulletin that was sent out), then down to transition to rack my bike, then to B Maes to be a general layabout for the rest of the day.

I'll most likely stop by the BT Party at B Mae’s but I won't be at the morning ride...a good night sleep is way more important to me.  I'm probably going to ride and swim in the late morning if anyone is interested.

Just be aware that Ellacoya doesn't open up for us to swim until noon, hence we plan on swimming at 12:30

FYI, Rec'd this reponse from Keith Jordan:

as long as you're off the roads that we bike on by 7;45, you'll be ok. but,
there will be a ton of traffic getting to the park in the morning. i'd
prefer that you don't ride on the course at all, if possible. it's confusing
for the police and volunteers, and could easily lead athletes off course....

So, Rob and I plan on sticking w/ our 7 am ride for anyone who is interested.  The route w/b dictated by above and we'll figure it out when the coffee kicks in.
